Mimicing Image effects-open challenge to Everyone-FIRELIGHT

this is a open challenge to whoever can pull it off, i couldnt do it..
FIRST OFF:

this is my image background ATM




I recently acquired a program(came with a micro crappy mini camera) known as Photo Impressions 4

a new effect in it, that i LOVE, is Firelight

So, i decided to fire my backgroung image

and it became this



I thought: this looks simple, it was only fired, so i should be able to do that in Photoshop(cs3)so, i tried to do the same thing: and COULDNT

no matter what hue setting, or color balance, or ANYTHING,in PS ...(and when i saw that Photo impressions had hue settings too, i really gave up)


So, now, im set on mimicing firelight in any other program than impressions

the CHALLENGE:

Try to mimic that firelight effect, on ANY Image:

if you want,it doesnt HAVe to be my background lightning pic, just post ANY random pic here, then i’ll firelight it in photo impressions( so you will know what the final effect should look close to) , then set about changing the original, to look like the firelight!

and, if you choose to edit in Photoshop, do tell shortly, how you figured it out! plz?

i figure that some of the more powerful editers, such as james ,maybe Tree, Cid, chaos theory, etc, might be able to figure it out:

i’ll be posting more norm images, then firelightign them and posting them in the same post, so people can see, in other pics, how firelight affects it

still cant believe i couldnt mimic it...

Just desaturated, played with colour balance, and then toyed with the levels a tiny bit to get more of the cloud darker.

And Ty steps in and blows away MVC"s power houses in sigs.

and simply with those tricks...


i would have never thought of a desaturation, but...that image even has the lightnign being Yellow in the middle, THEN the color on the edges..

i guess i’ll dub it a lightsaber effect, where the color isn’t THAT much in the middle, only slightly

i’ll still add more examples to the topic, anyway, but from what i can tell, many 'effects' that progams use, are just doing things from color balance, solarization, inversing, , and the likes, etc, and combining certain ones

what is that supposed to mean?

this can partially eb considered a art challenge, much like the igs of the week, or othr art endeavors that occur often

i have Photoshop, and i also have Photo impressions 4

In Photo impressions, there’s a effect known as firelight.

i demonstrated it above


IT doesnt' deem to be much of a change, so i reasoned that it should be EASY to also perform in photoshop, or similar programs such as GIMP, etc



yet, i couldn’t quite pull it off, tweaking this and that


so, i put it out on HERE <to see who thought they could figure it out, and mimic the firelight effect


Tyraeus did a pretty good job, ... i’m curious as to who the other people with powerful picture editers will attempt this


will that serve as a decent explanation for you, Death Vader?
