Note: The last chapter was almost entirely from his memories. This chapter takes place in real time.

Chapter 2: Escape

I woke up the next morning at 9:00 army time. I got out of bed, and went to the bathroom to wash my face. No more pain. Good. I noticed that I had slippers on. I turned on the sink when someone came into the room. I ran out of the bathroom to see who it was. It was a lady. She was light-skinned and had red hair, and was wearing a white skirt. She’s a nurse, and a beautiful one too. She walked right up to me. She said, “So you’re alive, are you? And to think you were about to become metal-head fodder!”

“What do you mean by metal-head fodder,” I said.

She replied coldly, “I’m kidding. Is every Krimzon Guard like this, ‘cause I’m getting pretty fed up.”

So she knew I was a Krimzon Guard. That was unusual. Hospital personnel generally didn’t know that type of stuff. I became suspicious of her. I asked, “How long until I’m out of this hospital?”

She replied, “How about now?” She went for my neck. I grabbed her arm in mid-air and pulled her towards me. I now had her in a head-lock. I could break her neck right now easily, but I realized that that would leave a body here, wherever here was. I pressed harder on her neck until she was unconscious. I put her on my bed, pulling the sheets over her body. That’ll buy me some time. I took off my slippers, opened the door and (silently) slipped out.

I looked around. I was in a corridor, which branched into two parts, one leading left and one leading right. I took the left, because I heard voices coming from the right. As I ran, I noticed other doors. Maybe one of them will explain where the hell I am. I tried all of the doors and- they were all locked. So much for that. At that moment, alarms started ringing all over the place. A voice said, “Intruder on the fifth floor! I repeat, intruder on the fifth floor! Left wing!” Damn it! Those doorknobs were probably palm scanners in disguise! I turned around from the doors and heard 7 pairs of footsteps coming towards me. What the hell am I going to do? I decided to go back into my room and check on the nurse.

When I got to the bed, I found her (still) unconscious. At least something has went and stayed right. I searched her to see if she carried anything useful, and I found a gun. What the- where the hell am I? Nurses do NOT carry guns! Dumbfounded, I donned the gun and ran into the bathroom. I should also don some clothes. I searched through the bathroom cabinets to see if there was anything there. In the cabinets I found a male nurse uniform, which I immediately donned. I walked back to the door, when I realized that I should at least try to sound like a nurse if they ask me questions. I recited what I was going to say 5 times, and then I exited the room. Just as I expected, all of them instantly mobilized on the door. Here it goes. I whispered, “Have you found the intruder? Sorry that it took me so long to get out here, but I had to make sure that my patient was asleep.”

One of them said, “apology accepted. We should search the lower floors, since he’s probably escaping as we speak.”

“Good idea,” I replied.

As we all ran down the stairs, I was thinking of a plan. Once we get to the ground floor, I’m going to try to get permission to get out and then run for it. I put my plan into action when we got to the ground floor. I said, “I should go outside and see if the intruder’s already out of here.”

“Good idea,” said the one who had responded earlier. He gave me permission and I walked towards the exit. He yelled, “Run, man! You know that this hospital is a secret facility! If that intruder yaps to everyone about this place, then the Underground will be very angry with us!”

“Okay, I’ll run!” I yelled back. So this is a resistance building. That woman who attacked me had said that I would become metal-head food. She was probably telling the truth. I ran to the main entrance and exited the building. Wait till Arnold hears about this.

Through night and day I spun in a wheel of lost souls

Each day was an earth age with vexatious evil cries

Until at last I found my enemy and smashed my fist into his twisted face

Year 1313,
The Ogres assailed our land with a surprise attack on our three largest coastal ports, leaving our masses strewn upon the bloody streets, demolishing both upper-class and peasant dwellings alike in their advancement. They then spread out in parties and ravaged our farmlands in fire. We were unprepared for an attack of this size. No standing army was at our call. We were forced to hide, to cowardly flee inland. Never before have Ogre surmounted such a force. For the first time in history they are fighting united as a race. Easily they could have blocked our access to our coastal ports, leaving us without access to the sea, strategically crippling us. But they left soon after their invasion, taking many of us enslaved to their lands. We emerged from our hidings into the hell they left behind. I searched in vain for my wife and son, but they were taken. I can’t help but think about the horrid pains they are enduring before death gifts its peace.

Oh, how I weep over my dear loves.

Year 1314,

With desire for revenge raging through our hearts, we raised a great army in less than a year. The strongest of our nation have come forward to fight. I scratched my family sign upon the recruitment papers the very day they were proffered. My trade as a tailor is over. I am a soldier now.
Ogre slayers from Mistruik isle have been training my brigade. I’m one of five pole-arms in my brigade. My job is to use a ten foot hooked-pole to drag an Ogre to the ground so spearmen may drive their weapons past its armor. Lately we’ve been working with other brigades in how to separate out individual Ogre and then keep others away while we do our killing work.

To die fighting that which stole my life’s true passion is now my only passion.

Year 1315,

We landed a ten thousand man force upon the Ogres eastern shore. Then we marched deep into their lands, slaughtering their innocent as well as their warriors, as they did ours. Successful we’ve been, pushing them out of their cities and into the mountains like fleeing sheep.

There cities are a different then ours. The Ogre construct vast cities entirely made of wood. Wooden towers loom above us as we march through wooden markets. And a great fire burns behind us as we march out of their wooden cities.

My brigade is constantly changing as we die off. New recruitments are sent in periodically to restore our numbers. I’ve taken a personal responsibility in helping the fresh recruits. I came in on the first detachment and never had the advantage to learn from veterans in battle. I watch how nervously clumsy the new recruits are and I can’t imagine I too was like that once.

I still remember my first battle clearly: hundreds of those giants appeared from the tree lines of a distant forest and trudged across an open field toward our awaiting thousands. Hatred, anger, nervousness and fear mixed in the air as we waited for the Ogre warriors to meet our numbers. The initial clash was a jumble of confused soldiers, everyone jumping about trying to dodge the Ogres great maces. Then the Underlords yelled out commands and restored order among the ranks. Until that battle, now called the Battle of Ghostwood, our spears only tasted an easy foe. Many of us were lost in our first encounter with true battle. But I walked away from it feeling reborn, it was good to encounter the those which were responsible for tearing my loves away from me.

The pained squeals that Ogres make as spears pierce their flesh will haunt my dreams for life.

Year 1315, Encampment at Mount Death

The Ogres hound us from the safety of their mountains. They descend in the darkness of night and hit us with concentrated points of force before disappearing back into the darkness. We’ve begun to station watchmen a half miles distance in eight points around our encampment. Each night we can hear the watchmen’s horn ominously ring through the pitch, giving us some idea where the forces are attacking from.

But now the Ogres have proven wiser then us in this night combat. They stretch themselves thin around our nightly encampment, setting the alarm from all directions. They then hit us with a large force from a direction we can’t possibly predict.

In the daylight we dispatch brigades from our encampment into the mountainous canyons in search of their layer. So far five brigades have been assaulted while trekking the mountains, three of which no soldiers ever returned.

The watchmen’s horn is called “Death’s Ring” amongst the men, its ring not only warning of an attack, but pending death.

Never any sun
Only snow, snow falling everywhere
Rolling snow is the only thing to do
The sea is covered with icebergs
Hot weather, is a miracle

Penguins and polar bears
Over the snow and sea
Loads of ice, but nothing else apart from snow
Everybody, somebody, get me out of here!

I am

I am nothing
I am just dust
I have so much knowledge
knowledge that tears
at my soul.

The lies
the immpossiable
the traditions
the rights and wrongs
the do’s and donts.

I am nothing
why do I even exist.
I am worthless
can’t do anything right.
I will kill myself
but the irony is
I already have.

For I died along time ago
in my youthful mind.
I’m in my own prison
shaking the bars,
yelling out for freedom
when I know I’m bound at my soul

I scream out for God...no answer
I scream out for my friends..no rescue
I scream out for my family..no help
I scream out for anyone and yet..no reply.

I will walk this lonely world
walk it day and night
until I find the answers
that my soul so long desires.

******A Believers Death********

Confusion and delusion cursed me at first.

I trusted my Lord to help me ford through this storm until I reform to my norm.

But this blur did not deter even doing what the experts prefer.

I fought for thought but naught I brought.

My blind mind entwined within the unkind twirl of deaths whirl.

My loves lost to my mind, all left to find was the rind of a world’s guise giving form to my pending demise, mere gleams of wakeful dreams.

My last thoughts of meaning were of pleading for my Lord to be kind and accord me toward a restored and sound mind.

My mother crouched before my bed shed the clear tears of years gone wrong as she prayed for divine aid.

A might enthralled my sprawled furled world.

A crack of bright peered through my black of night.

The breath of death blew through my soul but nothing it stole.

I gasped awake as God’s fingers rasped their pure cure with the reap of my bleak sleep.

“Mother, God has heard your prayer and answered this despair. Arise, there shall be no more cries. My forsaken has been taken by our Lord’s grand command. Other things he has planned for my hand.”

***SATAN OF MOVIECODEC***

I am the God of Moviecodec , heed what I say on this fateful day!

Weeman has disgraced and defaced my good name. He’s brought shame to my fame! I’ve descended to convey my horrid dismay over his disgracing betray! He lurks about like a demon without doubt, but little does he know, a mighty blow I’m about to throw.

Yes! A mighty clash of fists will fly in a twist! I know all you on the “list” wish to assist but you must wait until I’ve dealt his fate!

Weeman…Weeman…hear my call. Into the dungeons you’ll go if you stall.

Come Weeman, come to me now, you know I’m not kidding, hear my almighty bidding!

You can’t wait any longer, I grow only stronger as my rage fills this page.

You must come to me now on this day when I say, or I will send POW to shave your crooked uni-brow!

Weeman jumps from his hiding and is caught between deciding if he should beg of his lord or draw forth his sword.

Why you pick on little old me? I’ve done only good as you can see.

Ha! I should lift the gift of mod I bestowed! You’ve cursed our good name with all your damn flame. I should strip your dull sword and throw it to the watching horde. Perhaps a more worthy of name will pick up its power and wield it with wisdom instead of reigning from a pitiful tower as you have proven to do hour by hour.

Please…Please…master, I plead of you ….don’t take my Sword of spite, it’s alright, I can be polite. No more will I ignite a fight with a stupid incite.

Ha! I’ve seen it once and I’ll see it twice. You will pay in dear for your wicked vice.

Weeman unsheathes his Sword and points it at his lord.

No you shan’t, you can’t, you can’t! I am the lord of all; all shall fall under my wicked call. My powers have grown too great for you to sedate. So turn about and ascend to your heavenly castle gate, this is my divine fate, I will rule the below in a dire fire for all to admire. I will sustain a vast pain upon the domain of my reign! Yes! The members you’ve gifted life will feel my wicked strife for following your ways and giving you unjust praise.

So be it! The domain shall be SPLIT!

God of moviecodec slams his great scepter into the golden floor in a deafening roar.

You’ve got what you want, you can haunt and taunt but my prophets will spread the dread which will wait for those who follow what you create! Back into the blasted shadows you’ve casted upon my creation. There shall be no salvation save through my own begotten imitation. Yes! I will send forth a savior, gifted to those who show fine behavior, a light to see them through the dark of Weeman’s stark and evil plight.

So descend to your dark throne and don your robe of gloom. You are now the wretched Mod of doom.

The Death of Savage Snake

He stepped off the plane and looked through the crowd. He scanned all the faces and stepped forward. He looked at all the posters and signs, all saying, “Welcome home Marines.”, and “We love you!”. He moved through the sea of people, being grabbed and pulled by the children who wanted to see the “heros”.
He continued through the crowd and saw her. The yellow dress that he’d bought her, and the smile that he had fallen in love with. He ran toward her, slowing in pace only at the site of his son. He stood three feet away, staring at her. He had to use all his energy and last bit of strength to hold her. She began to cry, but he remained to be the soldier that he was trained to be.
“Your home.”, said the woman.
“Yes, I couldn’t be more happier.”, said the marine.
“Are you home forever? Will you ever leave me again?”, asked the woman.
“ No, never. I will be here by your side for the rest of my life.”, said the Marine.
The boy in her arms began to cry. It could of been the noise, the heat, or the feeling of all the killers in the area.
The woman smiled, “I think we should be leaving.”
The marine kissed her, took her hand and felt the ring on her finger. He smiled and kissed her again. He then embraced her, and held her closer and tighter as if he wanted each other to become one. He then thought to himself, “I’m home.”.

He saw the face, the face of the dead man. The face was speaking, it was praying. It’s sweat dripped on the soldiers face. The two rolled around on the ground, each trying to drive the knife into each other’s body. The two cursed and yelled at each other, screaming, trying to pull the fear out of one another. The Marine’s helmet was pushed down and his eye sight was gone. There was nothing but darkness and screaming.
He then brought his leg to his chest and pushed the other soldier up and over his body. The other soldier rolled to his feat, while the Marine stood up and took off his helmet. The Soldier ran towards the Marine, and attempted to shove the knife into his torso, but missed. The arm holding the knife was grabbed by the Marine.
With complete control over his enemy, the Marine twisted the soldiers arm, exposing the elbow. The Marine brought his elbow down upon the enemies’ arm, and heard a satisfying crack followed by a sharp scream by the soldier. The Marine followed the move with a leg sweep, knocking the soldier to the ground. The Marine then lifted his heel high into the air and brought it down upon the soldiers skull. With that, the Marine looked at the soldier, his head looking like a caved in pumpkin. The Marine closed his eye’s and sighed.
