Bjarne-Request - Password Protection / Members ONLY forums

Hey , it’s me from the freestyle forum again
We get alot of guests constantly breaking the rules on our forum. The members have been pretty consistent in following the rules, and we’ve tried to encourage the guests to do so as well.
We would like things to run smoothly and in an organised fashion...
I’m wonderin' if its possible to put a password on the thread so that only the members and the moderators know what it is ? Or a way that you could enforce a rule that only members are allowed to use that thread?
I’m open to any other suggestions to keep the thread under control and if there is anything at all you can do about this, that would be great.

I do not agree with this idea because, frankly, after a long time, having the same members post in a forum gets very old in a while. I know this because the arguments of the Sony PS3 vs Xbox 360 vs Nintendo Wii thread are almost 102000 posts of the details, but with minor repercussions each time. If you have a member-only thread, you ruin the freedom that we offer here.

I totally agree but we could let people in buy maybe set time limits ? because if you go and look at that forum ... its very horrible.

Here’s an idea, PM THE MODS WHEN YOU SEE A GUEST BREAKING THE RULES!

Agree with Goldenraptor...but it would be nice to have a guest free forum.

Once again, I agree with you Cid but for minor infractions they get banned for 24 hrs(its not really enough)and they always come back once that 24 hours is up... but you have to agree with me that the guests in that forum are pretty damn stupid, they’re not completely crossin' the barrier of breaking any rules but they’re still spamming up that forum with useless comments, yes yes I know I post random stuff in off-topic but I’m going to make an effort not to anymore. Unless you could just put in the description of the forum that only members are preferred ... they won’t listen but possibly some of them might.

first thing random is good and yes i agree with chronic... the guests make the forum horrible... thats a reason why im not going there anymore.. anyways ill start PM’in you guys if i see problems
