Some of the sections in the Debate Forums seem out of place, such as School/Homework, Art/Creativity and Literature.

I would suggest that School/Homework be placed in the Misc. Forums and that a new forum, Creativity, be created for the Literature and Art/Creativity

I disagree. The Literature forum is for discussing existing literature. The Arts/Creativity forum is for sharing our own creations. They have their own separate purposes. Fine as is.

Acctually, Literature is a 'section' in the Debate forums. I can’t see exactly why literature would be placed in a debate forum. Literature is a kind of creativity and should be placed elsewhere. I also don’t understand how School/Homework is a debate.

Like I said, a new foum should be created and it should be called 'Creativity' and in it should be placed Literature and Arts/Creativity as they are both forms of creativity.

I also believe that the Vs. Forum should be placed in the debate section.

Is something wrong with you? Debate is the section. Literature is the forum. As for what is to be debated, there’s debating the philosophies presented, styles used, etc. For example, one could debate the merits of romanticism vs realism. Just because the majority of the user base is too lacking intellectually to have done it yet, that doesn’t mean it can’t be done. The Literature forum and Arts/Creativity forum have their established purposes and they work fine. You have yet to give a good reason as to why this should change. Also, by your logic, music and television and movies and games would all have to go under Creativity as they are all forms of creative outlet.

Then why do they say Media Forums, Debate Forums and Misc. Forums?

Then that can be settled in the Vs. section, which I strongly believe should be in the Debate Forums.

Only to a certain extent. They are more media than anything else, so I suppose that Literature could be placed in the Media Forums instead.

In order of relevance:

Games - Media/Creativity/Debate
Movies - Media/Creativity/Debate
Television - Media/Creativity/Debate
Music - Media/Creativity/Debate

Literature - Media/Creativity/Debate
Politics - Debate
Religion - Debate
School/Homework - Misc.
Sports - Media/Debate

Off-Topic - Misc.
On-Topic - Misc.
Vs. - Debate
Contests/Trivia - Competition
Arts/Creativity - Media/Creativity/Debate
Feedback - Misc.
Testing - Misc.

Because they are all forums for debate.

That’s not what the VS section is for. You do realize you’re asking the entire userbase to completely change how they use the site just for your simple whim, right?

Oh how I miss the golden days when it was just “The Lounge”, and maybe the games/media forum...that was great...

Changes aren’t permanent, but change is. I think Bjarne left it like this too long.

Okay...Though I don’t like how it’s set up in the first place, I’ll put in my two cents:
The arts/creativity forum is fine, it doesn’t need to be merged with anything...
The other topics, esp. school/homework and literature, are out of place under the debate section...
At the least switch school/homework with the vs. forum, and possibly move literature under misc. forums if it fits there better...
