I think it’s fairly obvious that a lot of sections on the site aren’t really active at all. So I thought maybe some sections can be merged, maybe it’ll improve activity and it’d probably make the site better overall. These are my suggestions, other feel free to contribute and post thoughts and opinions.
Getting started, I feel that Movies and Television can be merged together. Literature can be merged into Arts/Creativity. School/homework, and the sports sections are not active at all. So I believe they can just be done away with completely, and all the topics thrown into off-topic. Politics and Religion can probably be merged. Since they seem to clash so often anyway. Off-Topic and On-Topic can be merged again. People are using these as an excuse to generally spam in Off-Topic now, so doing away with On-Topic will do away with the excuse. Conests/Trivia can be merged with Arts/Creativity because... Well... They’re both pretty much the same thing anyway. Both used for mostly signatures and stuff. Finally, the Testing Forum forum is reletively useless to members, and mostly I see nothing but spam in there too. Spam that can’t be taken care of on the off chance it really was some sort of test. So it should be restricted to either Admins and Super Users or just the Super User. Finally, I’d like to add one section after taking all of these away. And that’s a Role Playing Domain. I know quite a few members here enjoy role-playing. Myself (Cid), Chaos Theory, Tyreaus Dreacon, Haylias, and others for sure. We might even find some new people who just never addmitted to liking the idea before. So in review, this is what my suggestions would look like.

Add a *cheats and walkthrouhg* section!
And no, don’t merge on and off topic.
They’re both pretty different things
Like he said, people in off-topic basically just spam it because of the existence of on-topic, which sometimes doesn’t stay on topic either. Look at the lonely thread...

The RPD could also possibly get new people in as well. It’s pretty popular online and gets a lot of different people.
Yeah, not that much of a good idea IMO
It’s a possible idea, at least. Maybe something to look at in the farther future after the other stuff has settled, work with what we have first before adding stuff.

Guys, let’s not forget that we’re trying to clear up inactive sections of the site here. Adding even more sections is bad. >_>
we should make an anime and lit mixed section... that would be popular, and it would just take the place of the lit section, and keep it lol im smart you dont have to tell me

Anime can be discussed in the television forum already. Manga is usually discussed in the same threads as anime. *scratches head*
Basically, what I’m proposing here... Is that we kill off the secions that, when you look on their first page, you get topics dating back several months.
Thinking about it, literature should be merged into Arts/creativity as books can be considered art... Right?

No, I don’t want to be moderating about Sarah Palin and Evolution in the same section...
It’s honestly for the best interest of the site.
They are too un-related to be merged.
A new section called 'world and politics' or something would be better.
Politics and religion are mixed all the time. As it stands, the politics section is far too inactive to stay on it’s on. I mean... 20 topics since January 2009? That’s kind of pathetic and makes the forum look more inactive than it really is. And we can’t just keep throwing everything into Off-Topic.
