Site Sections Suggestion

there isn’t nothing wrong with the site the way it is now, apart from lack of members. if you dont like the way the site looks then shouldn’t you fuck off to somewhere more your taste? busy little nobodys with too much free time around their fat asss.

Not neccisarily. Popular rps such as DBZ or Pokemon or something would bring about random people. That is just an example though. Look how it got people to Gaia, obviously it won’t be that big but we can expect to get more traffic.

Like a lot of the threads in the Vs. forum, where there are characters that are never really put together in other forums being put together here.
Basically, the more popular the idea, the more chance there is that there are more sites above this on the search list, and thus farther down one has to go to get here.

That is the same for the vs forum, yet we get lots of traffic there.

That’s why I mentioned that there are a lot of threads in the Vs. forum that aren’t traditionally done in other forums. Smaller amount of other sites to weed through if someone were to google it, and there always are people googling things like that. Things titled like “Legends of Darkness” are more, common and complex than something such as “Darkseid vs Goku”. As in, someone actually googling the entire phrase “Legends of Darkness” is fairly rare as it is while the latter isn’t as rare, and other threads on other, more popular sites may be titled “Legends of Darkness” as well. If the drift is followed.

It depends on what you call the rp I suppose, but the vs forum still brings in those kinds of people, which will get them there and such.

The title is a big thing, obviously. The thing is, like Cid said, we have no real idea.
It makes more sense to me to clean up the sections we have first and work on figuring out what should be added after by judging popularity of things.
If more RP threads were actually made, it’s possible we could get more people wanting a section for that, instead of playing section trial-and-error like was done for the sections we have now that has created the relative mess we have.

The only problem with that is the fact a good RP begs for organization. You can’t have organization out in random sections. we tried before and it failed despite a lot of interest. We’d be adding one section, which I’m fairly sure would remain fairly active regardless just based on the mentality of most of the posters on the site.

Then you have to have guidelines for character creation, rules detailing good RPing, basic character layout, the best RP sections even have an 'example' RP thread with a few posts to show what a quality RP is.

Good RPing sites are always extremely well organized. I doubt we’ll generate much interest otherwise.

Plus, what can we lose by adding one section when we’ve got at least 5 people established to enjoy role playing? I could likely even bring a few new people to the site through this and I’m sure you could too and anybody on Gaia can.

I don’t want to be doing this and end up going backwards by doing the RP section like that and end up having it fall on it’s face by some turn of fate.
Things like that just seem to bother me so I’ve become more cautious. >.>
I don’t think it’s a bad idea, I just don’t want it expanding suddenly and failing somehow, like the entire site seemed to.
If it’s REALLY that necessary to make it super organized, then fine I guess.
Now I think it’s sort of a question of “what do we do while we’re waiting?"

And, Boo, religion and politics always seem to fit very well together as far as debating goes.

Bu enforcing somewhat strict RP rules, it’ll ensure that the quality of RPs remain at a certain point.

Because 99% of RPs I have seen, even with blatant rule of 'no godmodding' had godmodding.

I like RPs, and I’m in no way against making a section on its own, but I believe if it were to be made, the rules would have to be extremely strict and enforced, as Cid said.
