There are times when people will go dig up really old topics just to spam... I personally think it would be a good idea to have a forum cut off time in which old topics will dissappear, my personal suggestion would be topics that haven’t had a post with 3 months. I also believe this will help decrease board space.

Dissappear, but still remain on the site. Maybe archived somehow. Through the search would be the only way to find one of these older topics.

that could work too, I just think it’s annoying when people go find a really old topic and post in it for the hell of it. I actually had the idea because of another forum, the forum has a cut off date but it’s way too long (around 6 months) and instead of doing the smart thing they made it against the rules to revive a thread older than 2 months.

Anywho, as I said... I’ve noticed over the past week or so that people have been digging up ancient threads.

I like this idea, it does get annoying looking through old revived topics.

Well if they revive an old topic but their post goes along with the thread then it is ok

Don’t you think that if the post is old then it has no reason for being revived though?

Somehow I get the feeling that the recent reviving of old threads by pow is because of me creating this thread sad I’m sorry...

I support it fully. There’s a sudden bubble of spam topics coming up, especially in the games section.

Just to note, it’s a member named Mortis who’s doing it.

Old threads as in ones that haven’t had a post in months, they sink into oblivion then stupid people go back and dig them up. If Goku vs Superman has been keeping active then it’s okay, however it it became a dead thread and people stoped posting in it I wouldn’t want some dumbass to come back and start the argument back up. You understand what I’m saying?

I don’t support this idea. The concept of having old topics is so that if somebody searches for a topic on google (this site is optimized for google searches), then they might find it. However, deleting or archiving old posts may be a problem.
