Would a Mod lock these threads already?

The only thing they’re accomplishing is pushing better topics to the second page. Unless the thread creators are banned or they decided to leave they’ll never die. Even if nobody else replies they keep bumping them back up, and quite frankly it’s getting annoying coming in every day and seeing them bumped to the top because the idiots who made them can’t stand for me to not respond.

And if you don’t want to lock them then we need a sub-forum in games to keep versus threads so that don’t clutter the first page.

Ok I took a look at several of them and don’t see a reason for immediately locking them other than the fact that they are beginning to clutter up the game forum. However, I would agree that one “vs” topic would be better and will strongly suggest this to the creators of the threads. I will let you know the results.

When there was only one or two threads it wasn’t really a problem, but within the last few weeks they’ve been popping up like mad. It’s just getting rather annoying, I’d rather have a sub forum for them, you can’t really contain several different arguments within a single thread because things would get confusing inside.

Oh ok - well for a subforum you’d have to take that up with Bjarne. Mods don’t have the power to change the site structure .

If that’s what you think would work best I’d recommend pming or emailing him with your idea and the reasons behind it.

Yeah, I would ask Bjarne but it takes so long to get an answer sometimes, and besides it’d help if I had some support from the mods on the idea as well.

Well personally I don’t think that topic needs its own section. If, however, you mean its own sub-section under the main heading of games...that would make sense. But unfortunately, I’m not sure if the site could work that way...

I was talking about a sub-section under the games category, one specifically for versus threads. There are at least 15 of those threads that are active in the games section, and they were all made within the past few weeks.

Creating a sub-forum and moving those topics would make the games section look more appealing to gamers, right now if a person looked at the first page they might get the impression that we’re all nerds who like to argue over which character is better, when in fact we’re nerds who like to argue about which console is better. (lol)

The idea should be possible to do, I’ve seen many a forum that have a sub-forum on them. The idea would be the same as creating a normal forum, except you’d put the link to the forum in the games section instead of on the main page. I think in the end it would be a great idea overall, it will help keep the games section free of topics that clutter the front page and also gives way to an entirely new section that could help in attracting more people to the site.

There are 25 versus topics on just the first two pages of the games sections. That’s not including the console vs topics. On the first page alone there are 11 of them, that’s over half the first page cluttered with these topics.

You’ve responded to all of those threads, thus bumping them up again, contributing to the very thing you are complaining about. If they weren’t of interest then people wouldn’t respond to them.

Actually, if you’d stop being lazy and look at the post dates you can clearly see that most of those threads haven’t had a response by anybody who isn’t the thread creator in quite some time. In fact half of those threads I responded to last on Feburary 27th, the other half were the day I made this thread and all but one post by me was made before I made this thread.
