80GB PS3 Discontinued, 120-160GB with Dual Shock 3?

Intresting if the 160GB stays the same price as the current 80GB.

They won’t necessarily see a sales increase though. They need to focus on lower the price another 100$ before they even think about a new set of SKU’s.

Also, Sony said having too many models can confuse the consumer (as many buyers tend to be ignorant) and they said they’d steer clear of that choice. However, here they are, doing and going against their word.

As I said, they need to focus on price first.

Not necessarily, If I didn’t have a PS3 and were looking for one, this would be of choice, specially with such an extended drive. If the160GB model is true, then I can easily see MS doing something to the Elite, perhaps adding Blue-Ray and adding Wi-Fi to it, along with enlargening their HD.

As for MS adding those things. The only one would be an even larger HDD. A blu-Ray add-on has been in the talks. But Wi-fi will stay excluded as an add-on.

Major hardware changes like that are not an option for MS. They CAN add the wi-fi adapter for free and bundle it with new 360’s. But actually adding in a working Wi-Fi chip won’t work.

I was reffering to those people, and myself. I’ve had the 60gb model for ages, well its my brother’s he currently took it to LA and is planning on selling it. Its pretty much new, still have the box and everything. Don’t use it.

What Sony needs to do is stop acting like such douchebags and introducing and cancelling so many god forsakken SKU’s. The thing about it is, one SKU is going to get higher brandname attention, and if you cancel it then you have to start all over again. Kinda what happened with the 60gb. If 40gb is discontinued then the process will continue, as 80gb never sold that well anyways.

They either need to stick with the 40gb or introduce another and cancel the rest and stick with that to the end. Otherwise they are confusing consumers and stabbing themselves in the foot.

I’m still getting the 40GB after i get my new TV, after i get a wii.
