American Sales for Week Ending Nov 24, 2007

Black Friday week. Look at these beastly sales. Take note of the DS especially and the large increase this week of PS2 sales:

NDS- 684,202
Wii- 421,419
PS2- 271,160
360- 254,680
PSP- 194,723
PS3- 174,045
GBA- 45,167
NGC- 4,875

Can you say goo. What the hell. Those DS sales are collosal. Not to mention Wii is ungodly as well. DS in Europe/Other and Americas alone has sold 1.2 million units this week. And it’s supposed to sell another 140k thereabouts in Japan. Just huge. Wii still rocking. It sold 650k in the US only(not canada)its last 2 weeks, although VGCharts has yet to adjust Wii sales last week to fit it. But still huge rises in sales for Wii despite having a 75% increase last week.

PS2 though saw the largest increase this week of about 270% increase. That’s incredible. It outsold every other console but Wii. PS3 also saw a large increase. Out of all 3 7th generation consoles it saw the largest increase percentage wise. Wii saw the largest increase unit wise. PSP increases a lot as well but its just hard to look at it and DS and be appreciative.

Now top 30 software. Remember VGCharts is alwasy adjusting numbers so these could change from my posting and some from last week have been dropped and increased.

Same here. First time its outsold the 360 version yet so quite an accomplishment. Considering it sold out on Black Friday haha. Couldn’t meet the demand. I think I stated this as a topic awhile back that the combo of GH and Wii could be nuclear haha. I think I was right. Biggest 3rd party game on the Wii right now.

Analysis of Software sales:

First of all if you don’t like bundled games well then just don’t look at Wii Sports, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, and Forza 2. I include them cause none the less they are software sold on the market.

Getting that out of the way. SMG is the best selling game this week. It hardly even had a drop off from last week. Impressive really. It’ll be over 2 million easily by the end of the year in America alone. And that’s probably underestimating it this time. Mass Effect also opened wiht 200k. Nice opener. This title will go platinum worldwide no prob. Assassin’s Creed, unlike SMG, has a huge dropoff in its second week, even in spite of it being Black Friday. Same thing happened in Europe/Others to it. Galaxy hardly dropped while Assassins Creed on both platforms dropped off. SMG is going to have some huge legs, maybe even comparable to that of Wii Play.

And speaking of Wii Play another 155k in its 41st week. Now that’s impressive. It also went over the 3 million market. Wii Play to pass H3 in America? Wouldn’t that be interesting haha. GHIII on PS2 stays the dominant version, while the Wii version is the second best, kicking 360 to the 3rd spot, but all well ahead of the PS3 version which is not even in the top 50 sales. COD4 on 360 stays strong and will be over a million in America alone soon enough. Mario Party DS opens strong, and will probably have some long legs considering MP8. WWE 2008 and NFS on PS2 stay strong. Same with Brain Training.

PS3 gets its first title with Assassin’s Creed. And I have an update to add. FFXII on DS was added which sold 87k in its first week. I’ll get that up soon. And 2 interesting back up here in Pokemon and Nintendogs. Impressive sales so far into their lifecycle. Especially Nintendogs. Its in its 118th week.

Overall this week, Wii software sales was top dog over 360 for the first time in I can’t remember how long.

#17 has been updated gentlement. FFXII: Revenant Wings was added late on VGCharts.
