Battlefield 1942 was a nice game every class had a nice fit.
As the games moved on some classes like the anti-tank were given a weapon that can function well up close instead of just a pistol.
Battlefield 2 was very nice because it had so many classes each had a good purpose.
In BF bad company, the class system was fine but it really did not meet my full expectations I mean the Assault class they got an AR, grenade luancher, frag grenades, and the auto-injector. I liked the auto-injector so I could keep healing myself but I did not really know why this class would need so many grenades if they already got 8 grenades and 5 hand thrown grenades, a sidearm would have been better. Plus even though it was nice that you could choose what to unlock, the basic weapons in each catagory for each faction were never able to be changed. One faction with their recon class got a magnum for a sidearm, the russians base shotgun was a semi-auto one that you could never take to other battles with you.
It seems like EA has been trying to simplify the classes since Bad Company came out.

The only reason that BF1943 has such a simplified class system is because it’s an arcade title. I mean you can’t be expecting a full game for just $15. Don’t worry BF3 and BFBC2 should have good classes.
Yeah but demon, it may be an arcade title but they mainly said REMAKE, I was expecting a direct remake, As in the good classes I remember like for the U.S. Marines,
