Ya know I’m hearing a lot of people throw games off as not big or that they won’t sale. So I’m telling all of you to put your mouth where your money is. What is going to be the best saling game in America in 2007. I’m going to give you a list of the most plausible choices but of course if you have another please throw it out but trust me I know the industry and there’s a great chance it will be in my list. Here are the nominees:
Halo 3(360)
Super Smash Bros Brawl(Wii)
Super Mario Galaxy(Wii)
GTA IV (360 version)
GTA IV (PS3 version)
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl[combined](DS)
Madden NFL 2008(choose a version)
Guitar Hero III(choose a version)
I think it will most likely be one of those but if you’ve got another tell me. Some interesting things to know. As of the end of April 29th here are North American hardware sales:
360- 6.04 million
Wii- 2.64 million
PS3- 1.39 million
As you can see the lack of PS3 games in there is mainly due to that.
So if I were the one choosing I’d narrow it down to 4 games. Those games being Halo 3, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, and Madden NFL 2008 PS2 version. A note is that in 8 days Pokemon has sold 1.1 million units and growing fastly. By the time the others could come out it could be to far away. So for that reason if it does turn out to be Pokemon I might just say well that was hte handheld winner and we’ll pick a console winner as well.
Which leaves us with H3, Super Smash Bros Brawl, and Madden NFL 2008. By that time the 360 base should have ended at around 9-10 million in America. The Wii one should be around 7-8 million. This is all being my opinion determined by sales trends and just overall knowledge of the market. The best saling Madden game on the PS2 never sold more than 4 million. So keep that into account as well. So by then I’d have narrowed it down to Halo 3 and Super Smash Bros Brawl.
It really could be anyone’s game here but Wii has so many huge titles coming out in holidays 2007 SSBB sales could be hindered. But I’m not going to have a definite answer yet. I’m just going to leave it at for me between Halo 3 and SSBB.
Now for all of those that keep saying some games aren’t megaton games and won’t sale put your money where your mouth is. This would be you SCT and any others. But seriously this will be fun if some people put some thought in it.
I know but GTA is hard to figure out cause previous games have sold close to 14 million and the majority of those probably still only have a PS2. There’s no way PS3 can put up higher sales than the 360 version.
And the 360 version is not going to attract a whole slot of new gamers from PS2 to buy it. So it’s going to easily be one of the weaker saling GTA games. But I’d say 1.5-2 million in America. But you know it’s fighting with Halo 3 with sales. And on the 360 Halo 3 is the bigger console. Sales are goign to be hindered.
But man if this would include everything it was easily going to be Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. Just thought I’d throw that out. But we’ll jsut leave that in seperate for handhelds.

Who cares about October. It’s about competing, durting that tiemframe at least, during the holiday season, which is December. That’s what it’s all about. Fuck October. That’s jsut a release month. December is where the intra console software battles are on.

Halo 3 for the 360 then followed by GTA4 for the 360 and then SSBB for the Wii.
But Halo 3’s the vote.
GTA 4 sales should be put like one, combine x360’S and PS3’s. My vote goes so far:
-Halo 3 , hands down
-GTA 4
-and....that wii kiddy game. Which one? sorry I forgot, all wii games are kiddy
Why would they be combined. That’s not how this works. If we did that then Madden 07 is the easy victor. I mean it has to be a game for one console. Otherwise games that are on like 9 platforms will always win. So if you want to still stand by that be my guess. Just choose which version of GTA and choose a Wii game for 3rd.

Well I have x360 so, I’ll go for GTA4 for x360.
Alright so yours is right now
1. Halo 3
2. GTA IV(360 version)
3. Which wii game plz?
Well at least your not going to make a really dumb mistake by including a PS3 game in there. I think many are going to pick Halo 3 as it is a very safe answer and has a pretty strong chance of being the one. But it’s all going to depend on Wii hardware sales.

I don’t think PS3 sales are going to get high enough for GTA to become the best seller, so I’m trying to decide between SSBB and Halo 3.
Yep exact same here. Between SSBB and Halo 3. It’s going to be interestin here because Halo 3 will most likely launch in October or Novemember or maybe September. Can’t remember. While SSBB will probably launch in December. So for those reasons alone could put SSBB out for 1st spot. But we’ll have to wait and see. A lot of this is really early but I want to see people digging in and making analysis by figuring out when they think games will release and how much hardware those consoles would have sold and put it all together to figure it all out. I’d rather that then just guessing a game personally.
