I got to go with Super Mario 64. I thought about Goldeneye 007 but Mario 64 was just so groudbreaking in about everything it did. It pretty much defined gaming from the start of 3d for consoles.

Would probably pick OOT next after that with a tie with Goldeneye 007.

And then after that other and add in Metroid NES.

Man there are too many to pick from. But I’m sticking with Mario 64.

I picked Goldeneye as well, with 64 as a close second. I remember both games set the gaming world on fire and fans didn’t know which way to look.

Some of my best gaming times in my life were sitting around my buddy’s house with 4-5 of us playing Goldeneye for hours on end than switching over to mario 64 trying to beat each level by taking turns. Too bad gaming is not like that anymore, online has taken over.

Man there are just too many too pick from. I mean we got Metroid NES for really starting the wave of games after it for the first game to not be linear. Then we have Super Mario Bros. NO explanation needed. Then we got Super Mario 64 setting the standard for all 3d games and after. And of course got Goldeneye 007 which showed console FPS can be done. Then we got Halo redefining how sci fi FPS are done and then again showing us online can be great on a console. Of course got OOT showing that games can be a masterpiece and not just some b-rated movie.

So many things haha.

None of those would exist without Pong.

Completely agree, I had so much more fun when we just had 2 N64’s and 2 copies of goldeneye and had tourny’s. We could play that game forever, never got old.
