ya no sony had plans of upgrading the ps3 cell chip from a 96 nano metre or something to a 64 nanometre for less power consumption and better performance, it dont make it obsolete cus that cell of intel was just to see what is posible but things like that culd be slow making in production,
this confirms the ps3 cell is not obsolete its still the best on the market from what i know of
