I know Capcom hasn’t “Officially” announced it yet, but 1up (don’t worry, I’m not dumb enough to take there word for 100% true) has said they’ve had interviews with capcom where they’ve confirmed it will be a new franchise and stuff, but I know in the past 1up’s been unreliable.
And due to the unexpected success of purchases of dead rising, i’d say it would be a fairly good idea to take another crack at the series.
Now, ive got a few ideas, feel free to contribute, if you haven’t played the game, still contribute some ideas.
something I think would add some realism and difficulty to taking pictures, would be for when you snap to photography mode and say you start moving the camera around, it should go out of focus.
And next, I know that in the original dead rising, they only gave the zombies very basic physics because they weren’t sure of the capabilities of the 360 back then, but since then there have been some break-throughs of the 360’s power, so I’d say they should have some room to upgrade dead rising graphics, and physics should be able to be upgraded.
and next, I think that frank should react more to zombies being in the area. instead of a bunch of zombies crawling towards you, and Frank just does a little animation of dingling with his camera, he should be breathing deeply and looking around and look fairly nervous and frightened.
and also, when I saw the advertisements for dead rising, it looked as if there would be way more zombies in a single area, but you didn’t see much of that, (the best you would see is under the mall, of in the al-fresca plaza on the third day)
I’d of really liked to see so many zombies that in some areas you couldn’t just zig zag past them.
and next, I’d like to see some online ability, like these,
Survival: Up to 5 players battle through the mall or map while playing competitively and trying to defeat each other
Team survival: players of up to 10 split into 2 teams or more fight each other while trying to survive the zombies.
Time Survival: This game type is not playing competitively with others, you and other survivors fight your way through the mall with one chance to stay alive, if your health goes down, your out, when your entire team dies, the match is over, and you will be able to see where your time and PP ranks on the leader boards.
OO, that reminds me, in DR 2, you should be able to find gasoline at like, Canadian tire or something, poor it over a bunch of zombies, throw a match on them, and create a massive fire throughout the zombies!!
Go in first person view with guns, but stays the same with everything else.
Better physics.
More zombies, you can have literally... a couple thousand zombies on screen at once, without a single lag... they should keep that up... but add more and i mean WAY more zombies.
More weapons, vehicles, et cetera.
Give a more varied zombie look, not the same 20 different kinds over and over.
And finally, when you take a weapon off a shelf in DR, it doesn’t dissapear, you just pull stuff from nowhere, get rid of that and make it to where stuff actually comes off the shelf when you use it.
oh and... Cheat codes... good ones...
Also, did anyone notice that Dead Rising had some of the best reflection eva???
Well, the 360 could handle at least 15,000 super detailed trees on screen at once with physics with the trees that allowed the trees to sway with the wind and and other crap.

but isn’t that because one of the 360’s cores are entirely devoted to physics?

No... i was actually talking about Just Cause... if you have played it you can see a great potential for the 360’s power.
And that game barely used one 360 core to run, if you used all 3, compressed, and did the coding well enough, then you could EASILY have 10,000 zombies with full physics on screen at once.
