Did u guys here about the new zelda game called the legends of zelda spirit tracks?

It’s to do with the wind waker link. and its for the ds. it gets me mad.. i wish they were comming out for one for the wii. but i guess nothing comes out before its time. anyway just thought i would tell everyone. (incase you haven’t hered)

This months GI says that the Zelda team isnt working. . .on anything.

I’m not a handheld guy.

There are two different Zelda teams: one that works on handheld versions and one that works on console versions. This is why usually there are two Zelda games always in development. Both have oversight, though, by its creator, Shigeru Miyamoto.

Now this is some great news for DS owners as its always nice to have a Zelda game announced. However, I’ve yet to really get into the handheld versions of Zelda but that’s fine. We do know, however, that a Zelda for Wii is being worked on and simply waiting for an announcement. People need to remember Zelda games have very long development times. Just like Mario platformers. This isn’t your Call of Duty or Halo or Gears of War. These are games that have 4-5 years of development time. Now, we know the game started development somewhere in 2006. Thus many put a release date for Zelda Wii in about 2010. I’d say we could get a trailer of it this year at E3, like I’ve always thought.

We were never going to get that announcement at GDC though. Too big for a “smaller” event. But the main focus of this even with Nintendo was about downloadable content and online content which was their main focus. Apparently according to Sean Malstrom, this is in direct response to the rising success of the iphone. So wait for E3 for some big announcements but until then Zelda on DS was still a pleasant surprise.

i couldn’t agree with more zucas. this zelda announcement was an indeed surprise. If only at e3 they could announce the next zelda for the wii, or even another mario title! Or than again mabye not, i guess the longer we wait the better the game will be?
