Dispelling Golden Warthog Myth

I am a halo 2 modder and I know for a fact that the golden warthog is just a modded warthog. When I opened the map file to look for the golden warthog shader, I only found the regular warthog shader wich is shared in a map file called shared.map. I also looked through weapons for the scarab gun and found nothing. FINALLY, I looked through EVERY map file to make sure there was no shared shaders I just hadn’t found. It IS possible that there is a scarab gun hidden in headlong (not likely however) but the golden warthog glitch is a simple case of BS


Common descriptions of getting it:

1. Get to top of level and flip a switch.

2. Get 16 people to shoot rockets at the bilboard and it will 'drop from the sky' (yeah right)

3. Get a tank, both gaus turrets, and 16 people with rockets to shoot the big door at the bridge to nowhere and blow it up (definately bs, because that particular object doesn’t have a 'breakable object tag')

4 and most outrageou I’ve heard: Do 1 & 2 at same time then use sword flying to find golden warthog out in the water sitting around the edge of the wall, out of sight, on a pillar. (How do you get it back?)

The Golden Warthog has to be true. I saw it once in Headlong, but I never actually drove it. My cousin found it but he didn’t seem to care that he found a major glitch. jeez...

just letting u kno the scarab gun wuld be found on the “New Mombasa” map
1)insert the halo 2 cd and go to ur dashboard
2)starrt up FTP and go to /Maps
ull see a list of maps
u can get the pelican, phantom, scarab gun, etc there

OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG!!! I found it!!!

First, you need to put all of the warthogs in the map into the sunlight. Then you need to go onto the broken bridge, and shoot the warthogs, and blow all of em' up. Then shoot the horizon out towards the ocean with the maximum ammount of rockets you can hold, 1 by 1 rocket being shot. Then when the warthogs respawn by the blue base, destroy them with frag and plasma grenades, 1 frag, and 1 plasma grenade. Then when the warthogs respawn, they will be Golden Warthogs, just like on the bill board!!! They go really fast, but don’t have any turret.

The switch on the roof is real i did it but it doesnt fall from the sky the yellow door opens theres a little tunnel there and its there.it does go faster and has no turret and i dicovered (ROCKET LAUNCHER ONLY!!) if you blow it up when it sorta like jumps and sets fire there will be a turret shoot it off the whole warthog “damaged warthog” tag will turn into a “scarab gun” tag

TO GET THE GOLDEN WARTHOG YOU HAVE 3 DIFFERENT WAYS. NUMBER 1:GET YOUR XBOX AND THROW IT OUT THE WINDOW AND PICK IT UP AND TURN IT ON THEN BOOM THERE IT IS. NUMBER 2:GET A HAMMER AND SMASH YOUR XBOX 20 TIMES THAN TURN IT ON IF U CAN THEN BOOM THERE IT IS. NUMBER 3:LET THE XBOX LOOK AT YOUR FACE THAN IT WILL GET SO SCARED OF ITS ULGYNESS IT WILL AUTOMATICLY POP UP ON THE SCREEN. THERE YOU GO JUST 2 ONE IT WORKS TRUST ME I DID MM ALL

ok ok ok her is the deal.... the origal releases (aka versions) of the game had golden wart hogs, each version has different ways to get and the latest one didn’t have one at all. if you look on the bottom of the halo 2 disc you will se a serial number it basically tells you what version you have. So in conclusion some people can get the golden warthog... no moding need, and some people have to hate the original playa’s, mod, then fell kewl about themselves just to get the golden warthog...... (serial number and corisponding glitches coming soon) (this includes superbounces and double bounces two) (oh and coagulations tripple bounce through the teleporter)
