do you have to have the new halo 3 MP maps to play MM?

Like in halo 2, do you have to have the new maps to play like rumble pit, lone wolves etc? team slayer?

The maps are in a separate playlist. so those with it can play with others who have it. and those who don’t have it can continue playing as usual.
