I’ve purchased a DS Lite and I was wondering if someone here can help me out a bit. I want to know whether or not it’s possible to remove the plastic screen cover on the touch screen. It’s not a screen protector. Rather, it’s the plastic cover that’s over the touch screen initially. Underneath it is the hard screen. I want to remove it because I find that I have to press harder with my stylus pen for the DS to read commands. I’m positive that the DS Lite must be opened if one attempts to remove it, I’m not sure whether or not it can be removed though. So, can it be removed?

There is no plastic over the touch screen. That softish stuff is the touch sensor.

I don’t think you want to. I’m pretty sure if you got rid of it, touch wouldn’t work cus that is the detector...I think...if it doesn’t just peel off easy it’s not meant to come off. And I never had to peel anything off my screen.

Oh..well then..I guess no one has tried this before..if what you’re saying is true then without the layer I’m not able to play my DS using the stylus pen. At first, I thought the hard screen below the touch sensor didn’t need that cover over it, but I guess that’s what is needed for my DS to read touch commands..
Hey, you know those moniter screens that are touch sensitive? They don’t have that like the DS do they, I don’t recall seeing a touch sensor if that’s what you call it over those screens. But, if it’s really called a touch sensor then I guess it’s necessary...I’d prefer to play my DS if it wasn’t there but yeah..oh well

Just give it time. I doubt you will get a different answer though...

I’ll see if I can get further assistance somewhere else, but thanks for your help.

dude, you do not want to remove that so stop asking. some screens have small sensors made right into them such as screens you may see in commercial buildings. leave that thing on and if you have already tried to remove it before your screen became hard to use then you basically already screwed over the touch pad.
