Well, Grav Gun, Portal gun. Half-Life 2 is literally the game that founded the base of mass physics in a game. The characters emotions, etc. New games today even have trouble keeping up.
I don’t Half-Life 2 deserves the award. It’s past it’s time and was only a port. I think TF2 really deserved the award. The classes played so differently from classes in other games.

Untrue,
Save films and screen shots and map variations and gametypes being uploaded and hosted on bungies website is very innovative, top it off with one of the ebst matchmaking systems to date and volla, innovation.
I think it took people a while to realize how much Hal;o 3 actually gives to the player.

Games had that before Halo 3 and that’s not impressive.

I think it was a sports game.
It featured all that shit, forge, near flawless matchmaking, and a heavily customizable custom games section and a story driven singleplayer?
Farcry had a better level editor. Matchmaking was shit. There were thousands of complaints about the outdated matchmaking. There were no rooms or lobbies to host matches so strangers can look through games and join, terrible. The story took the biggest hit in history. I read reviews that said it was terrible. When I played it the story was terrible. I can’t believe a video game made you feel warm inside.
21 is right. Matchmaking sucks. Bungie figured players would rather play against those with the same ranks and try to prove themselves. Rather then play with other players for simple fun in Forge or something. sadly, they were right.
And FarCry’s editor was better. The only thing Forge has over it was you could have multiple people.
