it isnt turn based combat
the campaign is turned based in the fact that you control a country, and you send out armies, build stuff, lay seiges, convert people and whatnot that needs a turn-based type to run well
while the battles are real-time strategy’s that involve you armies run around slaughtering each other with calvary, infantry and artlillary
