I am currently enjoying Fallout 3, but it does feel a lot like Oblivion with guns. And even with all the new imrpovements (more character stats, larger map, ect.) in Fallout 3, I still like Oblivion more.
Judging by what I’ve seen from L4D, I’ll prbly end up enjoying it more. Afterall L4D is said to have the best online multiplayer experience out of all the other games that are coming out this year. But seeing as you don’t have XBL, I say you should go with Fallout 3.

Oh...well then get L4D. I like Fallout 3 and all but in all honesty it just feels like Oblivion with guns to me :\.
No, Fallout 3 is the best choice. Let me explain:
Since Oblivion, Bethesda has made so many improvements that, aside from repeatedly shooting enemies in the head a surviving, that is about the worst thing that could happen. Graphically, the game ownes so many others and, for the console versions, the game has a nice crisp feel, whereas the PC version has a softer and more relaxed feel.
L4D seems like yet another great game, but since there are so many zombie games out, depsite hardly ever getting tired of killing zombies (), if you want great gameplay, buy Fallout 3.
Think of it this way; Fallout 3 is Chuck Norris and L4D is Jackie Chan.
Chuck is a seriously hardcore guy, but Jackie is just funny and awesomely awesome. S I’d say, buy Fallout 3 first.
