Cloud vs Tidus -

Cloud wins.

He is a strong fighter, he is an experienced fighter he worked in Shinra’s military since he was about 15 or 16. Tidus is strong, but he lacks several things to beat Cloud, battle experience, and lack of common sense are just two of them.

Auron vs Vincent -

Vincent wins.

Tifa vs Paine -

Paine wins.

Tifa is a strong fighter, but she can be too soft if a fight. Besides, as skilled as she is with her fist, she’s still fighting against a blade, which really isn’t a fair fight.

Sephiroth vs Seymore -

Sephiroth wins.

Sephiroth is possibly one of the strongest entities Square Soft created. His powers range from telekinesis to mind control, his skill as a swordsman is second to none, and after merging with Jenova in the life stream his power became much more then that of a normal human.

Wakka vs Cid -

Cid wins.

Cid is an all around good fighter, he is for the most fearless. He’s not afraid to put down his spear and jump into a group of enemies and beat the shit out of them with his fist. But more then that, his powers are reminiscent of the Dragoons of Final Fantasys past. His incredible skill in battle and superior attack over the others in the main group show even at early stages of the game. Other then all of that... He can call in the Highwind and drop a payload of 32 missiles on his enemy, that would kill just about anybody.

Kimihari vs Red XIII - Kimihari beats Red in a close match

Kimihari wins.

Kimihari takes the talking tigerish creature to a whole 'nother level. He’s not as intelligent as Nanaki, but he has more brute force. All in all, this would be the closest match here though, Red XIII is no push over even though he stands on all four legs. His Cosmo Memory limit break is a powerful attack to be reckoned with. This fight is a classic battle, Power vs Smarts, in the real world... Power usually wins.

Rikku vs Yuffie - Rikku wins the match, but Yuffie steals Rikku’s gil.

Yes Yuffie is a Ninja, yes that makes her awesome, but no that doesn’t mean victory. Yuffie can be a strong fighter, but she’s too greedy, she’d rather still somebodies' materia then help save the planet. That is her downfall, she would be too distracted to fight, mainly because Rikku is also a theif. Yuffie might even run away in order to keep Rikku from stealing her materia.

Yuna vs Aerith -

Yuna wins.

That hurts me to say, it really does. Aerith is probably one of my favorite characters in the entire series, so much so that I cried when Sephiroth killed her. (I was like 8 though...) The fact is, Aerith is not a fighter, she never was, he main use in the game was to heal or protect your party. She’s a support character with a weak attack.

Lulu vs Cait Sith -

Lulu wins.

Cait Sith is a stuffed animal who is controlled from afar by Reeve. Lulu is a mage who likes stuffed animals, but just because she likes them doesn’t mean that she would hesitate to catch Cait Sith on fire. Cotton burns, and quite well might I add. This is the most one sided fight in the entire setup.

Barret vs Noje -

Barret wins.

Barret is an odd character, he curses and always seems angry, he also makes me think Mr. T. But despite all that he’s still strong, having a gun grafter to your arm has it’s perks. He has several strong attacks, but the game winner is Catastrophe, he shoots out a large beam of plasma. That’s enough to turn metal back into liquid, just being close to the heat could leave a person with third degree burns. As I said earlier, Barret would probably melt the guy’s leg with that one attack.
