So honestly is Fire Emblem an ok RPG? I’ve been thinking about getting a new one.
Well like they said its not much of an RPG. It’s a Turn based strategy with RPG elements. It’s also quite a difficult game. But it is story driven and quite fun when ya get into it. Ya just need to like difficult and drawn out games.

Fire Emblem, it is basiclly a cross between final fantasy for some fantasy elements but also bluit off of fanicom wars when both of these series were in Japan.
I say it is similar to Nintendo’s war games series because it uses some similar stuff like terran movement costs, cover, environmental uses, etc.
Final Fantasy though because every person who joins has a specialized job, plus weapons degrade over time so bows, swords, axes, books, all break sooner or later. Plus the element of losing someone forever really did start here, when you see todays games like Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2 using a system of allies gone forever, this one is where it all really started. Plus it is unqine so you can go for broke or just hit the reset/reload button so you never really lose anyone.
