Ok, so after playing master of orion II many hundreds of times, I was hoping to find something similar in today’s market. After removing Galciv II from my computer, a few months later I thought I’d try again with the expansion Dark Avatar.

the results were more than a letdown...

so far the only difference is that I can mine asteroids and choose which tile I place my agents on. the balance of the game is also flawed:

Starting a game on easy, there’s absolutely no resistance from your enemy during a war; go up one level and play a game on normal and all of a sudden your enemy will show up with 12 stacks containing 3 ships each and all are up with the latest, greatest weapon...how did they afford that? which leads to my next point, the economy.

Why is it so frakkin impossible to pull a profit unless you have trade routes? If you could start the game with it, fine, but for some reason a space faring civilization needs to research trade before they can do it...please!

I could go on, just wanted to hear others' thoughts on the matter...am I missing the mark on this one?
