He plans on buying 36 copies of WotLK and a whole year of WoW for all of his accounts, which totals out to about $7211. And he says that the price is “not bad for a hobby” .
I was rubbishing my Brother in law cause he has over a years worth of game time logged in 'WOW' .....yes he actally calls it 'wow' ad even flew over to melbourne to meet some guys he had as part of his guild, but damn, that shit is crazy insane..
Sure, there is the slight possibility this person has no life and sits around doing nothing but playing WoW in his/her mother’s basement without any real friends or a girlfriend/boyfriend, but that would rule out the good job he/she has to have in order to accomplish this, as I assure you that a bum with no life wouldn’t be able to afford this so easily for a hobby.
This isn’t pathetic, its impressive, although provides no practical outcome. This person probably just wants to do it, and since he/she is managing all these accounts at the same time, it won’t take much longer to get to the same level the usual WoW players are at, and its not like all WoW players are fat and have no lives; quite the contrary.
This isn’t addiction, its a hobby. Leave it to a bunch of teenagers who spend a decent amount of time on a forum to call someone out for having no life without actually analyzing the situation.
The next time you see a guy who spends lots of money on multiple cars for show and not much else or someone who builds models and you don’t judge them the way you judged this person, think about your hypocrisy for a minute.
HALOOOOOOOO Been crazy since the day I was born! Rep: 37
Rage you make a great point my man. Personally I don’t see dedicated gamers as having no lives, as I’m a gamer myself. However, I do think 36 accounts is a little over the top. Maybe ten at most.
Anyways, he has to be successful at something, because if he can afford $5,000+ a month on games he’s making good money. Not to mention all the bills he’d have to pay. I don’t see how a fat and lazy person would be able to afford that and not have a life outside of his home. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was in good shape and had a girlfriend, many gamers are.
It’s also interesting to note that if you play any super-popular game you apparently have no life (unless it’s GTA). If you play Guitar Hero you suck at real guitar and have no life. If you play Halo you like crappy shooters and have no life. If you play an MMORPG then you’re socially inept have no life. Other people see these gamers as not human, like some weird creature that you shouldn’t approach. At my local game café there are people who go there regularly, and they aren’t nerds with no life. There are even *gasp* girls who go there (some good looking ones at that).
Yea...On the contrary it proves he has a life since hes able to afford that....And how is having 36 accounts no life? Wouldnt he have more of a life than the people with 1 account since they will have to play longer to get higher?
I’d love to know where he gets the time to play AND work, unless he is quite possibly one of these peope that make a fortune from playing wow and selling off rare treasures/armor/weapons/characters ect.
I man, theres a shit load of money to be made in mmorpgs, I mean actuall real money.
