So this is a shameless plug;
There’s a World War 1 theme for the signature competition if anyones interested in entering this week:http://lounge.moviecodec.com/topics/58550p1.html
Oh, and the new call of duty looks, well, rather graphic and dark.

I’ve got it on Wii and it’s pretty intense. Brutal too. Definitely deserves an M rating.

I love how the first Russian part you play through is just like the opening scene to Enemy at the Gates. Guess it must be based on a true story.

The good thing about this game is that for yet another WW2 shooter which people are tired of, at least it is set elsewhere so it is not just a nazi run and gun game. I could see myself going back to Call of Duty 4 sometimes because both are similar and very different more for just eras.
The multiplayer seems more barable this time around, the Thompson and STV Rifles you get at the start are good and don’t make everything else overshadowed sort of how the M16 did in Modern Warfare. Semi-auto rifles make the use for being good anywhere, firing from the hip works decently with them when people are too close plus the bayeonet works wonders giving you twice the melee range. Even with deep impact some guns do not just plow through every form of cover, I have not seen many using a machine gun with deep impact that blows past every piece of steel I hide behind. For those who did want automatic rifles, there is still the STG44 and even though it is under machine guns, the BAR functions more like an automatic rifle for its rate of fire, power, and accuracy like the semi-auto rifles. I will go back to COD4 every now and then because we can all get tired of WW2 and that is what is also good for this, COD4 is modern and will not just be left behind like 2 and 3 were. Plus at least the attachments this time make more sense all around, people need to unlock the grenade rockets for rifles, and not everything is equiped with a scope to make it a sniper (ACOG from COD4 was on almost everything, I mean how the hell would we snipe or even want to with a tiny gun like the skropion?) This one we get apature sights, telescopic sights, and sniper sights. Not everything is on every gun but it gives you choices at least. Oh and the flamethrower just kills everything, fun to use, I just wonder how it is in multiplayer since it has unlimited ammo in campaign.
