Just to take Zucas’s idea and run with it, what Punk songs would you want covers for?

If you want to make another one for another genre then be my guest, just keep your faggy hate out of here. Ya dig?

First up I chose Saviour by Rise Against.

Squip- keep it on topic.

Um let’s see some early Offspring would be nice like Pretty Fly for a White Guy. Also from Green Day, some songs from American Idiot like Jesus of Suburbia ans Holiday. Also from their older CDs When I come Around, Brain Stew, and Basket Case would be awesome.

I’d also like some Blink 182 like Adam’s Song. And some from Sum 41 like Hell Song.

And pretty much any 90s punk would work with me along with some early 2000 punk rock. Not to much on early punk or the punk no one knows about. Usually just bad haha.

Perfect. Fat Lip, I think, was in the first Guitar Hero. Never got to play that though.

Well pop does mean generically popular. But that doesn’t mean it’s not punk. Most just call it pop punk because it’s punk that became popular.

Don’t know why people get mad at things getting popular. Usually that’s a good thing, especially for the artist. Even better when you don’t have to sell out like Green Day. People just like them.

Personally I think most underground punk is just awful. Probably a reason they aren’t pop punk haha.

Stereotypically though pop is meant to talk about people like Justin Timberlake and Beyonce who sing easy to listen to songs with virtually no meaning. More than likely didn’t write their songs but always top the charts. Usually soft rock but sometimes rap because it’s become so huge.

Most punk would not fit that because its not necessarily anything like any of that.

Actually, just about every band you mentioned sucks.

It’s ok though, so far the only band mentioned in this thread that isn’t made of shit and fail is The Offspring.

Even still, genre/decade/band-specific Guitar Hero concepts are the most retarded GH concept since removing Clive Winston.

Dude underground punk is the only good punk. They didn’t rape the genre and actually kept the essence of the early punk years. This mainstream stuff is just watered down and packaged to appear to pre pubescent girls who will eat the shit up.

The Offspring are okay. I don’t know if it is actually humanly possible to not like SOAD though. Atresac must be a monkey.
