Cool, so it seems the game is greatly made so it will not overtake Halo 3, I am sure many will still like the standard Halo 3 style gameplay we have seen for a while, so that new carbine is called the DMR? If this is true then is the BR still in? I remember one of the leaked screens showing the AR itself, but this should be the same as the Halo 3 MA5C, 32 rounds in a clip, effective at mid-close range. If we see the BR, and this new DMR, then along with the needler rifle, we should also see the covenant carbine. We still need to see if dual wielding is in and bungie should have something to balance out the need for medical kits in Reach multiplayer rather than make it a contest for whoever gets it first. All I know is, this game is going to rock.

*doesn’t care for Halo*
On a side note, I was insulted to see a guy wearing a L4D2 shirt today at school. I was, of course, insulted because this same gent occasionally wears a “Halo Wars” shirt. This is obviously insulting to me because I feel like it disrespects Valve by placing Left 4 Dead 2 on the same level as Halo Wars.
I’m gonna delete the unrelated posts guys, I don’t know the leniency of this stuff in VS or off topic but it’s indecent and stupid, if you wanna talk about something unrelated to the topic your posting in, do it via PM or create a new thread.

I think that the Mark VI MJOLNIR is the only variant capable of dual wielding.
Well at least according to the books it is, but than again, according to the books, a pack of ten grunts with plasma pistols is a match for a seven foot tall killing machine
After molesting this with my eyes, it sounds like this is gonna be fucking awesome (although im not sure if i like the sound of a one hit sniper rifle that doesnt require a headshot in Halo).
But still even if you “win” you still lose, no matter what you do, no matter how many covenant you kill, Reach still falls, and more likely than not, all six SPARTANS will die in the defense of Reach.

Well it is strange, we know Master Cheif dual wielded weapons before the Mark VI armor, as seen in First Strike and The Package episode. In the game, these spartans are using Mark IV armor, and there have been a few varients of this armor, in Halo wars the first prototype shielded mark 4 armor was given to red team of Douglas, Alice, and Jerome. These 3 were not spartan 2s, as for the battle of reach, 25 of the remaining 28 spartans were present. The 3 missing being grey team. The other missing 5 would have to include Samuel, Arther and Soloman who died in the Package episode, an unnamed injured one as mentioned in the books, and kurt who was really MIA.
Jorge-052 is the only spartan 2 on the team so the rest are rather the “other” spartans I have refered to in the past, typically just veterans of men and women who gained the augmentations but not as much training as the spartan 2s who had done at least 8 years worth of training from ages of 6 to 14 before entering combat for the first time. There were a moderate amount of these “normal” spartans and while they were effective, they were nothing compared to the spartan 2s.
As I said eariler with the mark 4 armor, The halo wars one is not accpeted as cannon but for gameplay reasons. The noble one team has their mark 4 armor with shields just because ONI scientists finally reverse-enginnered sheilding of the jackal engergy gaunlets and the full body shielding of the elites.

Miniscule? Have another read of the magazine, assuming you read it and didn’t look at the pictures, and assuming you’ve actually played halo 3 enough to be making a judgment on umpcoming iterations in the franchise, which clearly you think you have, you can clearly see this is a total overhaul.
I would not count the skirmish race as a totally new one if they are just cousins to the jackals. If they look similar they may just act different like the jackals as we know but their cousins could just be more aggressive or something. Plus with the core gameplay back this means we can actually wound Elites and if they are in, brutes. So that means for firefight, the core gameplay will return and it will be very good for dual wielding as well.
All I am currenty awaiting is if this game will include, firefight, multiplayer spartan/elite customization(I would love to use my own spartan in firefight), and the Battle rifle. The new DMR looks nice but having a semi-auto high recoil weapon is not always my forte, I tend to like those weak but low recoil, high accuracy rifles like the BR and in other games like the M4 in COD.
