This topic is for leaders and the special units to those leaders.
All leaders have a unquie unit (produced at a base) and a leader power.
UNSC leaders gain super units( extra upgrade to other units) and economy bonuses. All have access to the powers, heal and repair, pelican transport, and disruption bomb.
Covenent Leaders fight on the battlefield but also have their leader ablities to be used as a unit ablitiy. Plus they have a teleportation pad that allows them to return or have other units teleport to their location.
UNSC
Captain Cutter:
-leader power: MAC Blast-very fun to use ODST drop to keep the helljumper theme, useful for infintry spamming.
-Unquie Unit: Elephant moblie barracks can produce all UNSC infintry but not upgrade them.
-Super Units: ODST troopers, upgrade to marines giving an extra boost in power and ablitiy to come in anywhere player can see.
-Economy bonus: All bases start out as a Fortress
Stg. Forge:
-Leader Power: Carpet Bomb
-Unique Unit: Cyclops Mech Suit bluiding killer unit, typically the forth infintry for the UNSC, slow but melees very strong, can heal friendly vehicles.
-Super Unit: Grizzly Heavy Tank, extra upgrade to the scorpion tanks.
-Economy Bonus: All supply pads bluit instantly become heavy supply pads.
Prof. Anders:
-Leader Power: Cryo Bomb
-Unique Unit: Grimlin support vehicle uses EMP weaponry to disrupt opposing forces
-Super Unit: SparrowHawk medium Gunship, extra upgrade to the hornet, equipped with gauss cannons.
-Economy Bonus: All upgrades for units are cheaper and take less time to be reserached.
Covanent:
Prophet of Regret:
-Leader Power: Cleansing beam (manual controlled beam)
-Unqiue Unit: Elite Honor Guards
Brute Cheiftan:
-Leader Power: Gravity Hammer Swing (actually uses gravity this time)
-Unique Unit: Brute Chopper
Arbiter:
-Leader Power: Rage (Just more powerful melee)
-Unique Unit: Suicide Grunts

Well Demon think of it like this:
The UNSC can operate with their powers anywhere and since the Covenent can bring more units to battle, the UNSC should get the economy bonus to give them an added boost.
The Covenent Hero Units can ransack any group with little trouble, but since their killing powets are so strong it makes it balanced for the UNSC to be able to use weaker ones anywhere that can be seen while the covenant can use stronger powers only in a limited range, that is why from the demo you could constantly see units survive a MAC blast but struggle to stay alive from Regret’s cleansing beam.
Plus keeping in with the true theme of Halo, the UNSC does get the Spartans, and just like the novels, they can turn the tide of battle, basiclly 3 fully upgraded spartans would be an even match for any fully upgraded covenent leader so the Spartans could serve as Hero Units.
Regret could wipe the floor just with his power but the Spartans dodge unlike other units and just like in the game, hevier fire kills them quicker so a tank or missle will take them out quicker. Since they also have shields, a good idea like in the shooter is to take the spartans back when fighting, let their shields recharge and continue while their health can regenerate as well. Plus covenent leaders also die faster from vehicles so a Spartan getting hold of a Grizzly or Locust could be trouble for a covie leader since the vehicle takes all the damage and the spartan comes out unharmed able to continue the rampage.

Oh there is a little of an update for the covenent side. From what I see, both the Arbiter and Brute Cheiftan may get another kind of upgrade allowing other units like Elite Zealots (gold armor, use swords) Elite Rangers (jetpacks), Brutes using Brute shots, etc.

Nice.
I’m looking forward to seeing how the Flood will play in the game. The lead developer said that they “made the Flood extremely overpowered to make you feel like they are unstoppable”. Sounds exciting

Well that is what could make this fun. I always remembered that from the first Halo when I was only 11, I was playing with my friend no-stop back in 2001 with it but we were surpised like anyone else for that big twist of it going from shooting aliens to a zombie outbreak.
It would have been nice to play as the flood but that is what sequals are for.

and sgt. forge sounds fun cuz of the tanks
i enjoy the covies more, but it seems if you can get the resources the UNSC is more powerfull
