I don’t think those are the only types of video games and I think people are kind of retarded. People are always fighting over this.

I think if you plays games, you are a gamer.
Who cares how big your collection is or how often you play.
I have over 300 ps2 games and roughly 8 systems at home...
Do I play them all the time...
NOPE, but by the sze of my collection and the funds invested into it, I would be a hardcore gamer..NO?
IF you like the games, thats cool, but what does it matter how you get labeled...its all bullshit anyhow.
Now I’m off to suss out which games to buy for my new ps3

I’m hardcore about being casual. Especially now that I’ve kicked my MMO addiction.

The separation is easy.
Hardcore- plays as a hobby. Usually buys a lot of games and keeps up with the gaming industry. Doesn’t buy a specific games, will buy all varieties.
Casual- plays games everynow and then. Usually buys lesser games than the core but now always. Buys mainstream titles and big brand titles. Doesn’t keep up with the gaming industry. Majority of gamers
It’s really as simple as that. Casual gamers buy big brands such as Halo, Mario, GTA, Wii Play, ect. Hardcore gamers buy lots of games that are big brands and new and upcoming titles like Boom Blox, No More Heroes, ect. The main difference though is that Core gamers involve themselve heavily into gaming while casual(I like to call them mainstream gamers) do it a lot less.

Hardcore means you play games very often and can usually mean you don’t play shovel ware.

I think Hardcore gamers can buy anything, not just Boom Blox and stuff.
There are 2 kinds of casual: people that play what is heavily advertised (Halo 3, GTA, Mario...) and there is the kind that knows nothing about the industry and picks up any game that looks interesting. I have a friend like that. He looks at the most generic random titles on the Wii or 360 and says “Hey that looks cool."
lol he almost rented Turning point.

I see it differently. A hardcore gamer plays a lot more, as well as more frequently. I see casual gamers as ones who just sit down for a while and play more simple games. Many Wii games are a perfect example of this.
To me, it’s all about time.

Thats what I do when I’m renting games, not when I’m buying though.
Idk, I just like trying random ass games out.
