I know how to convert avis to mpegs, how to burn video cds, how to back up my dvds. But I ran into a snag with a game whose files I have in a folder in my computer. (New to game burning). Well, I have a few questions, and I am hoping that someone here can help me:
I have four files that comprise an entire game. Apparently, it was a two cd set. The files are named as follows: XCD1.mdf, XCD1.mds, XCD2.mdf, XCD2.mds.
I have the following programs to work with, and can download more freeware programs if necessary: imgburn, burnatonce, cdburnerxp pro 3, divx to dvd, vobsub, vcdgear, DVDshrink, mergemp3, express burn, SUPER v2007.build.21.
I would like to put these files on a dvd in a form which is executable on another computer without installing any special software on that other computer. I would like also to make the game run from the dvd, without completely installing it onto the other computer.
Is it possible to do all this? If so, do I need different programs to do it with? Must I merge any of the files?
If it can’t be made possible to run it from a dvd (instead of completely installing it on the computer), then do I need to convert these files to another format in order to be able to install the game? Any tips, hints, or downright instructions that anyone can offer me?
