I turned on my 360, it said something about contacting the Microsoft guys and on my 360 were the 3 RED LIGHTS OF DOOM!! I turned off my 360, unplugged and re-pugged it, and It worked fine,
no u dont have to take any precautions at all, infact u can be so careless that u culd smash it, through it threw the window, and u wont get the 3 red light of DOOM!
i had 4 red lights when i didnt put the video cord in, but im a pro and i slamed the cord into the 360 with style, then all the lights on it stoped including the green one and i was ready to play:P

Ooh but at all costs avoid talkign to MS customer service. I hear they are the worst out of the 3 companies haha.
You know what’s funny, I did call MS customer support and they told my to package it up and ship it in and I was like, “ZOMG 3 RED LIGHTS MY 360 IS TEH BORKENS!!!" until I figured out teh cord is just loose.
Well I just always hear about how big of dipshits they are. Like this one dude had his 360 break you know all the kaboodle. And he called the service. And they said send it back and we’ll send you a new one. The catch was he had to pay for the shipping. And he was pissed as hell and they were arguing with him and what not and it was a mess haha. Think this was posted on Kotaku if you wanted to search. But there have been many stories about this.
Sony and Nintendo on the other hand I hear have quite good customer service. But I guess with Sony you need it seeing with all the calls you get haha.
