I have an idea...
Lets take Call of Duty 3 (because it’s on all three consoles) and lets say a Wii owner who has it, a 360 owner who has it, and a ps3 owner who has it, all wanted to play against each other... but of course... they can’t.
But what if MS, Nintendo, and Sony made it to where there onlines could work together like this.
So they all could play against each other.
Good idea.. bad idea?

well, it sounds like a good idea, and it is, but it’s really just not possible. Both technical and because they would never do that.

Yeah i know it will never happen, but what if it did.
I think it would be a good idea.
But you couldn’t use the Wiimote, you would have to use the other controller of course, the wiimote would give you advanatges and disavantages, not fair.
And it would only work for certain games, not all.

This is why it would never happen.
There are significant differences between the controllers that cannot be overlooked. It would be a bitch, and I would vouch to say there would many complaints.
Also, in order to do this, they’d have to form a universal architecture due to technicality, which would inevitably lead to what spartan said about a monopoly, whether its free or not isn’t a question in that.

No, I saw it.
I just told you why.
Why’d you make the topic if you know better?

It would be a solid idea for sure, however connection issues wouldn’t allow it. Microsoft wants to allow a PC running Halo 2 to be able to connect to a 360 running it for a versus match, and they’re having problems with that. Imagine how difficult it would be for the consoles.

theoreticly it could work even if it doesn’t have the same hardware, because when it comes down to it you just need a rotating server. But ya it will never happen since MS nintendo and sony all charge different prices for online play they would all try to undercut each other so serious online gamers would rather buy their console. they just could not co-exist

actually they could but bungie doesn’t want to for example xbox players have had the game for more than 2 years and have alot of experience and or pc players use a mouse an keypad

It’s something to that effect, but didn’t the game informer article say something about having to add a downloadable patch for the 360 to make it happen?

PC players would maul Xbox players because a mouse and keyboard is a way more accurate combo. Unless they can use Huxley’s idea.
