I'm having trouble with GameShark codes

I’m playing Pokemon Emerald using the VBA emulator and trying to get some GameShark codes to work, but they don’t seem to want to.

The master code/s is/are set, but the others won’t work. Only CodeBreakers will.

First click on the cheats section, then go to cheat list. Click on gameshark, enter the first code that says “must be on." Then after that enter any other code, exit out of the cheat list and RESET VBA. It’s the only way I can my codes to work.

Only the masterball cheat works.
