is vista worth the hype microsoft gave it?

i did have a large thing written here but vista for some reason crashed on me.

now im gona make the thing shorter.

yes it may luk good but this is one of very few that look better on direct x 10, other than that your better off with xp for gaming.

reliability, you cannont rely on it at all, it continues to crash just as much as windows 98.

security: very secure, but is it too secure? sites like this take unbeleivably long to load and it makes you give up and use ur wii even if its harder to see the words, also networking computers with vista is a nightmare, they simply won’t network properly, and also you cannot network a printer so you can print it in other rooms.

so i finish with saying this, vista has no advantages for its high price

I would wait till they fix the bugs out, only 15% of PCs could currently run it and Vista ate 90% of PC games tried out for it.

Fuck Vista. Every time Microsoft shits out a new OS they act like it’s so amazing, spewing out the exact same bullshit every time.

I could get a quote from Gates marketing Windows 95, and you would think it was for Vista.

But now, I am saying fuck Windows altogether. I’m thinking of installing Linux onto my old laptop and just using that.

Look, its Microsoft. Anyone computer savvy knows they half-ass a lot of their products. However, they are user-friendly in comparison to, say, Linux, which is only good if you know how to use a computer well.

However, it was just released. It will get better, things will be fixed, but you really do need a powerhouse PC to get the most out of this bitch. Most of the testimonies I’ve heard have been positive, that there are minor, but fixable, gripes but its overlookable.

And, Moore, prove that that’s the only game that looks vastly superior in DX10 than 9 (that’s Alan Wake, I’m sure, Mr. Quad Core it be). So far, there is about one game that even utilizes DX10 at all, and that’s Supreme Commander, maybe Flight Simulator too. Upcoming Crysis, and then an influx of many more games.

But alan Wake looks better then that on 360 (i’ve seen it in HD and in action)...

The game is massive and has amazing lighting and shaders, but its rendering isn’t the best out there. I think the Crysis models are better.

I dunno though. It could be something else.

I haven’t really seen much about Crysis, but let me assure you the textures look near as amazing as they do when your a few feet from them then when they are miles away.

so our conclusion is that vista service pack 1 sucks shit! man gates hype up vista so much but no ones questioned him about performance in an interview, odd. and yeah the change isnt as good as going from 98 to xp, infact its almost like going from xp to 2000, cus its crashs more often, every time i opened msn it crashs and i cant fix it

yea I’d say there is apsolutely no reason to upgrade to Vista if you have XP or another OS.

lol, all windows did was upgrade their OS to be competent with Apple’s OS X 10.4, which has been out since January of last year. And now, Apple’s about to release 10.5 and the iPhone... stupid Microsoft, ease of use is for Apple!

The only thing microsoft has going for it is that its gaming library is a bajillion times more than Apple’s, but even that is starting to change... awesome games like Civ 4 and Call of Duty 2 came to the Mac last year. As did Doom. And, if you own an Apple macbook, you get the best of both worlds, as it can run both Mac OSX and Windows XP! WooT! Screw Vista, Apple is the future!
