Some things from it:
Silenced Sniper Rifles? :O The SOCOM nolstagia is coming back.
WHAT! THROW KNIVES?! HAHAHAHAHA, oh man. And they already anounced a abilitity to SAVE replays? HAHAHAHAHA-This is going to be hilarious.
Im glad there is not a 15-kill streak bonus.(for a abilitity) This game isn’t build for that what with not being a 32 person game, etc. Well, i kno, they’d do whatever it takes .But it goes up to 11. Hmm.
Deathstreaks- Well, when i catch a case of the Lag, ....
This is going to be CRAZY. I want to see Ground War with all this , multitude of crud, with my own eyes.
Me? Im personlly hoping the Single player thermal scopes make it to MP. SOCOM NOLSTAGIA.
Hope the Gold Guns are Back. They are the main late-MP drive alongside Prestiege

Slightly Older video I dugup: Shows a lot of MP. OH, and watch to the END, after the countdown they show a bit more XD.
Credit goes to infero Hero X for this first post below: The one after his article, is the info from mine above
I’m adding this, but Im thinking. Infinity Ward and Activision are now in the process of releasing a TON of stuff. By adding THIS here, everyone in MVC can see it in one place.
Well it seems we finally get a nice amount of info out of this anticpated title.
For starters one cool thing is the weapons:
Assault Rifles: Still getting the most varied types of weapons, within them are a bunch of full autos, no semi-autos revealed yet.
M4A1-back with all its glory
FN-SCAR-H Powerful model but uses only a 20 round mag, sort of a balanced rifle between the M4 and AK-47
AK-47 is the same.
The FAMAs is going to work just like the M16.
The Tar-21 was revealed as a new AR as well, an isreali AR that uses 5.56 NATO rounds
SMGs- many people loved these so why not list them?
MP5K- basiclly the same as the MP5 from COD4
UMP.45- more powerful but a little more jumpy as Bozon said.
Vector Kriss.45- Said to work like the MP5 but different.
P-90, yeah it was leaked but it is confirmed from the list of unlocks Bozon saw.
LMGs-Only 2 were revealed in the demo
The RPD is back hell yeah
The one seen in eariler trailers was the L-86 it looks like just an oversized AR.
As for attachments, well we have these for many weapons:
Read dot sights- same
Silencers- same
ACOG- same
Grenade Launchers- same
Heartbeat sensor
Extended Magazines- mainly ARs and SMGs
Plus we gain an extra Magnum, a .44 magnum, works like the one from CODWaW being a revolver, most likey less ammo then the degale but something over it.
The throwing knives are actually a primary throwing weapon, so they replace frag grenades.
As for perks, here are some new ones:
Scavenger-when you go to an oppoents dead body and can pick up shared ammo, you get more then normal, nice alternitive to bandolier
Bling- You can put 2 attachments on 1 gun, will not use up 2 perk slots unless you put a grenade launcher on.
Tactial Insurgance- Remeber getting killed while in a nice hiding spot? Well this nice one replaces your frag grenades with a flare stick, die in the time it is active and you will respawn where you threw the stick, it can be a double edged sword though.
Death Streak- Tired of getting killed? Mainly at those early levels with little gear? Well die 4 times and you can steal an oppoents class and use it against them, nice for beginners and others who have trouble with weapons they do not have yet.
One new thing is called “pro perks” in all sense they sound cool but you must do stuff to make them like that,
take stopping power, gives weapons a boost in power, well get 1,000 kills and it will become stronger. (For the sake of balancing, most likey it will begin at lower power then what is was orginially and that pro power is what it is normally, unless IW decided to make it so that you can soak up more then just 2-4 bullets every time before dying then it would work as normal and more powerful)
And kill streaks:
gained at 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 11 you can earn and use a wide range of them:
The classic, UAV, Air strike, and Helicopter are back, the helicopter is taken out by both combined fire and RPGs, the AC-130 is taken out by the homing missle launcher.
Others include, Anti-UAV, most likey preventing the enemy team from calling one in rather then mask everyone, that would defeat the purpose of the UAV jammer perk(if it is still in)
Supply drop- gives you a smoke grenade and you can drop it anywhere, once it is there, whoever gets the crate first on either side can get ammo and more back.
Preditor missle- remember at the first multiplayer trailer, the guy using the laptop? That is what this is for, it works extactly like the Laser designator from BF: bad company but you can direct it on people rather then structures. It highlights them in red and you can nail them with it as long as they are outside.
Perks are now upgradeable - each perk has its own 'challenge'. When you’ve completed it you unlock a pro-version of the perk.
There are obviously a whole load of new perks but so far we’ve seen:
Bling: This gives you the ability to use two attachments on a single weapon, ie. you can tote the red dot sight and the grenade launcher at the same time.
Scavenger: Using this you grab ammo from enemy corpses automatically, ensuring you never run out of grenades.
Commando: Rubbing in the humiliation of a melee kill even further, the Commando perk gives you longer range on your stabbing attacks.
KILL STREAKS
Fist-pumping when you unleash one, potentially devastating when someone unleashes one on you, kill-streaks are back, upgraded and renewed. As well as the unlockable AC130, already teased by Infinity Ward via a much-analysed YouTube video, these are your basic kill streaks:
Get 3 kills: UAV - So how’s this different to the last UAV from CoD 4 you might well ask? Ah, well you see, you can shoot this little bugger down.
Get 4 kills: Counter UAV
Get 4 kills: Care Package - By calling in an airdrop with a smoke grenade, a random reward is jettisoned to you. We’ve seen it give out a simple ammo refill and an instant advanced kill streak. Which was nice.
Of course, these are open to rest of the players on the map too, and show up on their radars. The tactical side of this is they can be used as cannon-fodder magnets.
Get 5 kills: Sentry Gun
Get 5 kills: The Predator Missile - This fly by wire missile not only lays the smackdown on its targets but also gives you a brief aerial view of the battleground.
Get 6 kills: Precision airstrike
Get 7 kills: Attack helicopter
Get 11 kills: AC130
DEATH STREAKS
These are aimed at assisting less able players (read n00bs) and are the opposite of the Kill Streaks. If a player dies four times in a row without scoring a kill they are awarded a bonus (which has to be unlocked first). Here’s the two we saw. (We died three times on PURPOSE, of course):
Copycat: This is the first you unlock and gives the player the chance to steal his killer’s class for one round. Now they can see what it’s like to have a good weapon.
Painkiller: Gives players an extra ten seconds of health after they respawn.
SECONDARY WEAPONS
You are no longer limited to a pistol as your secondary weapon. Available to you are a selection of machine pistols, shotguns and rocket launchers.
We can see this pleasing (spit) career snipers the most, as now they have a more powerful option if they get caught in close-quarters. Those rocket launchers come in useful for blowing UAVs AC130s and choppers out of the sky too.
ATTACHMENTS
These no longer refer to just red dot sights and scopes (which are still there), in MW2 attachments refer to 'skills' as well. The already revealed 'Akimbo' attachment for example allows a player to dual-wield weapons, and 'Rapid Fire' which is kind of self-explanatory. Suppression has also been made available on sniper rifles.
NEW SWAG
To up the ante in the war zone Infinity Ward has added a number of new weapons that you’ll be able to use in your special grenade slot. We can see advanced players becoming experts with these very quickly so our advice is get in there early:
Semtex Sticky grenades (Anyone remember how good the sticky bombs were in TimeSplitters 2? No? Oh.)
A throwing knife (Getting killed by this is going to suck.)
A blast shield (Offers greater protection from explosions)
Tactical insertion (Sounds like it should be painful, but actually grants you the ability to chose your own respawn point. Useful for nobbling the person who just killed you from behind).
RIOT SHIELDS
By swapping out your primary weapon for a riot shield you can completely change your strategy. You’re limited to using the riot shield as a defensive wall (it takes a fair few bullets) to distract and hold up an enemy but the advantage is you can can cave their heads in with it as well. If you swap to your secondary weapon the riot shield is hoisted onto your back to act as an ass protector.
Incidentally, using the riot shield in objective based matches like capture the flag still gets your team points, even if you are just using it as a distraction method rather than to kill enemies.
CALLSIGNS
Callsigns are a new way of rewarding players. Acting as a kind of big customizable plaque, they pop up when you get a kill or perform a specific action. Callsigns include a title, an insignia (not tied to your level), a background (there are loads of these to unlock) your gamertag and rank. More on these when we’ve explored them a bit.
HOST MIGRATION
This should stop those baby players quitting out and ruining the game for everyone else. Now games won’t terminated if the host switches of their machine. A small, but fairly significant improvement.
I do NOT mind having 2 or 3 threads about it.

The one thing I really don’t like is.. how much help they are giving the bad players. I mean " DEATH STREAKS
These are aimed at assisting less able players (read n00bs) and are the opposite of the Kill Streaks. If a player dies four times in a row without scoring a kill they are awarded a bonus (which has to be unlocked first). Here’s the two we saw. (We died three times on PURPOSE, of course):

What is that? That is bull shit.
I also don’t like this; “Tactical insertion (Sounds like it should be painful, but actually grants you the ability to chose your own respawn point. Useful for nobbling the person who just killed you from behind)."
Weeman wrote:
haha dual wielding? seriously? that’s so stupid
“The already revealed 'Akimbo' attachment for example allows a player to dual-wield weapons”
Modern Warfare 2: Haylow
Actually IW already confirmed that you can only duel wield handguns, this includes standard pistols like th M9 and USP.45, Magnums like the Desert Egale and .44 revolver, the burst fire glock which hold 18 rounds so you are set for 6 shots, and if they allow it, machine pistols like the MAC-10 or Skorpion(if those are 2 MP in the game).
You cannot iron sight when holding 2 side-arm type weapons and each would be made to have certain ups and downs like this:
Pistols: Accurate and low recoil but only moderate power and only useful for mid-longe range. Semi-auto does not always help with many people.
Magnums- High recoil and powerful but low ammo count and clip size.
Burst fire pistols(glock) more powerful then a standard pistol due to 3-round bursts, ammo goes fast, has a decent amount of recoil and accuracy but has a slow pause between shots so not fully useable with many more people around.
Machine Pistols: Full auto, high rates of fire, moderate to low recoil, only useable at close range due to the ROF. Have largest clip sizes and ammo count but are the weakest due to the ROF(so in this case the skorpion being moved from a main to a sidearm would greatly nurf its orginal power from COD4) Longest reloads as well due to the machine gun weapons needing to be re-cocked for an empty reload. Greatly inaccurate when using Akimbo.
But apart from that, it is nice that overkill will not need to be used anymore. Now I can make a tactical all range guy using an AR and a shotgun, (unless you are limited by what a secondary weapon could be like some shotguns could be much weaker if some are still used as main weapons like the AA-12 or semi-auto SPAS-12.)
My class shall have the ass-shield as Primary, any semi-auto pistol as second, akimbo atachment, and all other atachments will be for potencializing sneaking and defense.
An Idea for a second would be a Sniper for primary, shotgun for second, bling (supressor and red dot sight(or something similar)to sniper, hate zoomed snipers), tactical insurgance(course), and all others will benefice sneaking and (if I’m able) something similar to CoD 5’s Bouncing Betties.
A third would be a kamikaze big-ass minigun wielder.
Finally, ign posted a video with IW detailing how the create-a-class will work and well it has some pretty dam wide features.
first off, with us now no longer being resricted to a primary and side-arm, we can safely bet that overkill is most likey out, I do not know what the significance of carrying a AR and SMG would be or any of those with a riot shield. Plus no pro-perk would exist for it either.
Anyways here are the contents of create a class:
Primary weapon:
Assault rifles: Around 10 of them, shown early on you can get the M4A1, FAMAs, and SCAR-H
SMGs: MP5K, UMP.45, Vector Kriss.45, P-90, and more not shown yet.
LMGs/HMGs: RPD and the L-86 not known how many are in.
Sniper Rifles: Dragonov and what may be the Barret 50. cal again from that knife attack in a video. Amount in unknown/
Riot Shields: Not how many are known but it makes you slow to switch to a secondary but it does protect you from a lot.
Secondary:
Handguns: Around 6 or 7, includes the USP.45, 44. Magnum, M9, and Degale. Rest are hidden. Stats are finally shown for these!
Machine Pistols: 4 are around, PP2000 was the only one shown, skorpion may be in it as well. Again stats are revealed.
Shotguns: an astounding 6 shottys are in, We only got to see the semi-auto SPAS-12 and full auto AA-12. Having these as secondaries is nice but they always fit nicely due to low range and being outdone but handguns at longer range.
Launchers: Not just rocket launchers, we got to see the RPG for standard choppers, the AT41 or whatever the anti-air missle was for the AC-130, and also the “thumper” single shot grenade launcher is in. Most likey will be weaker then normal only due to balancing so we have no noob tubers.
Equipment: Normally frags but like WaW, now these can be switched out.
Includes:
Symtax grenades- stickies
throwing knifes
tactical insurgeance-thought previously to be a perk
and more not yet revealed.
special grenades were also listed but you already have a good idea on how those work.
finally each class also gets 1 deathstreak perk, not one that takes a main slot perk, these could be thought as similar to the vechicle perks in WaW. They include painkiller and copycat. No pro versions to them. I would take painkiller only to get a nice boost and resist the dam spawn killings.
Also each class gains a custom set of 3 kill streak rewards.
You have so much choice now, you can create a vast stealth or head on assualt guy. There are many attachments and with bling pro, you can put on 3 attachments, Go on you guys know you want a red dot sighted, silenced, extended clip, AR or SMG.
IW also stated that balancing the game was something they took very seriously this time around, not fully for guns like the M16s strength but rather stuff like how far grenades could be thrown, the perks even with their pro forms, and the kill streaks so there is no one just overpowering death machine.
Plus they really did rework some of the weapons, seeing as how the FAMAS will be a 3 round burst weapon and you can die really fast, the FAMAs has the same amount of damage as the M4A1. They really changed up the game from 4 and WaW.
Infinity Ward isn’t offering any details but says the oft-maligned Martyrdom perk from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be “treated differently” in Modern Warfare 2.
If you’ve played Modern Warfare online then you’ve probably been caught by a live grenade tumbling out of a freshly-killed opponent at least once. That’s the Martyrdom perk at work, a sort of last-chance flip of the bird from players as they shuffle off their virtual mortal coil. Naturally, not everyone is a fan, particularly those who suffer unavoidable death as a reward for coming out on top of a close-in fight.
But things will be different in Modern Warfare 2, according to Lead Character Artist Joel Emslie, who told VideoGamer.com that Infinity Ward has heard the complaints. “We are very, very aware of the community and what they like and don’t like, and Martyrdom has caught our attention," he said. “I’m happy with how the game is."
While he couldn’t reveal any details, he did throw a bit of a bone to fans by confirming that the perk has in fact been changed. “It’s treated differently. And I will say this - it fits in perfectly," he said.
He also dismissed claims that the addition of the Riot Shield, which takes up a primary weapon slot but makes the player “almost invulnerable” when used, will throw multiplayer games out of balance. “There’s always a counter-measure to everything in the game," he said. “Every element that’s been added and is brand new to multiplayer has been painstakingly tested by us, our own worst critics. We’ve had shouting matches about changes, very passionate heated debates about what works and what doesn’t work."
2.
One of the most odd things about modern gaming is when gamemakers take a perfectly good feature like, say, 'martyrdom' in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and change it. Why? Because of a small minority of extremely vocal game nerds think the game should be built exactly the way only they want to play it. (This happened in Killzone 2, when bots got tougher and hard core dorks whined and whined until bots were softened up.)
Today we get word that Modern Warfare 2 has tweaked its 'martyrdom' perk because of such whiners. According to Destructoid via VideoGamer, Infinity Ward says:
“It’s [Martyrdom] treated differently. And I will say this — it fits in perfectly."
Hmm. We kind of liked 'martyrdom' - the dropping of a live grenade upon death - the way it was. It was a great perk! It gives newbies some vengeance when they get run over by some gung-ho, no-life nerd who plays the game day and night. Sure, it’s cheap. But war is cheap, you sissies. We need more cheap shots in games, not less.
Like or dislike martyrdom, Infinity Ward - and all developers - should make the game they want to make, not cower to a bunch of toolbelts. What if musicians and painters listened to all their dumb fans? Nothing great would ever get made
HEY!!
I’m going to have a word with these complainers. The ONLY time juggenaut ever made me think twice is when sniping juggernaut users when I am using a bold action from across Crossfire ...even headshots don’t do it in that particular scenario with a normal rifle( I try NOT to use stpping power-UAV jammer is my preference, old SOCOM habits)
Martydom? ... i dont use it often..i cant get kilsl off it..and guess what! when opponents use it on me, you rarely kill me! I am suspecting they watered it down or tied it in to your grenade count, but :shrugs:.... Oh, WAW grenades..throwing was nice ,but the range was cut too much.

I am watching the vid inferno hero linked too..and this is mind blowing..but i like it..
SILENCED SHOTGUNS???? SO now we have a million Anton Chigurhs running around, LOLOLOLL....okay...this’ll be intresting.
I cant see them all(graphic quality), but it shows all the attachments, etc...
the AT4 rocket launcher- little known fact i know. the AT-4 model is fully in COD4, but it was not executed as a final thing because it’d eb a redundant RPG in the developers eyes... anyway, it’s truly in MW2, so..
..
i’m bummed..looks lke the thermal scope was kept out of the multiplayer attachmnts... aw
then again, people underestimate the singleplayer too much as it is.
Well if stopping power gets a boost for even higher power, juggernaunt should still be in, I mean how redundent would be if that perk was NOT in and everyone would just take a gun and beef it up with stopping power pro? There has to be juggernaunt for stopping power to be balanced, it exists as a counter. I mainly like using it on a shotty class so no one can insta-kill me when I get up close and personal.
If I saw a grenade, I would just run, easy plus the fact that I would rather have a perk that is always in effect, not one that handicaps me. Plus WaW fixed the grenade throwing so no one can get killed by a random grenade from all the way across a map. IW took this further and like tryarch, gave multiple primary throwing weapons. Maybe primary 2X will come back giving you 2 frags, sticky grenades, and knifes depending on what you choose.
But I already have a classic class ready to be made and maybe some new ones, I am definity going to start with the M4A1, My favorite full-auto AR from COD4 and use a RDS, stopping power, and steady aim, bandolier will come later. As for my secondary, the USP.45 or SPAS-12 sounds nice.
Forget everything you’ve learned about so far for MW2. Why? Because IW and Bowling himself have only revealed 20% or so of the game, and what they;ve got in store WILL make you forget-
latest revealed by him, ALL the stuff we’ve seen so far, ...there’s some GAME changing, big stuff , thats part of MW2 that will mak us forget everything we’ve seen so far about MW 2- he’s Sure about it... they won’t tell it, however
So I have no clue what could be that big..obviously they’ve been keeping the REAL, meat of this game hidden- I can say that they’ve got my intrest highly now.

Now, it’s Infinity Ward who says they haven’t revealed everything there is to know about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Furthermore, what they’re keeping under wraps isn’t something small, either; they say it’ll make you “completely forget everything” you already know about the game. According to what IW community manager Robert Bowling told VideoGamer, we’ve actually only heard about “20% of the game” and “there’s a lot of sh** people aren’t seeing." Yeah, we know what you’re thinking: with all the press this project has received in 2009, and with the sheer number of questions the team has fielded up to this point, it almost seems impossible that anything even remotely significant remains a mystery. I mean, we’ve even got full gameplay videos so what’s the big secret? Well, Bowling says the surprises are definitely a-comin':
“There are some huge surprises. What’s awesome is, we’ve done all the press we’ve done so far, we’ve shown Cliffhanger, we’ve shown some Favela, we’ve set the tone of what Modern Warfare 2 is, and yet there is something we haven’t talked about that, and the reason we haven’t talked about it is because once you see it you completely forget everything we’ve already talked about. It becomes this whole new game. That’s what I’m excited for."
We have no idea what they could be hiding, but we’d like to think we know what this game is about. Don’t we? What could Infinity Ward be hiding that changes our entire view? We assume it’s going to be a big deal so perhaps we’ll hear about it at the Tokyo Game Show; they can’t possibly keep it secret until the game launches in November. ...can they?
Activision Trademarks 'Call of Duty' For Movie Use
October 5, 2009
A movie based on Activision’s blockbuster military-themed first-person shooter is under serious consideration, a new trademark filing suggests.
Trademark sleuths at Trademork found that on September 21, Activision filed for a trademark protecting the use of Call of Duty in “Pre-recorded movies featuring comedy, drama, action, adventure, music, theatrical performances and/or animation."
Separately, Robert Bowling, creative strategist at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 developer Infinity Ward, said in a Monday Twitter entry that he is in Paris “Talking game films” with Xavier Gens, director of the film based on Eidos' Hitman games.
The emergence of the trademark comes months after internet reports emerged from anonymous sources who said that Activision is seriously considering the film treatment for the Call of Duty game franchise, which itself is known for its flair for the cinematic.
Activision-owned Infinity Ward created the Call of Duty franchise, which debuted on PC in 2003. After Infinity Ward developed the highly-successful Call of Duty 2, Activision annualized the franchise by handing off development of every other Call of Duty-branded game to another internal studio, Treyarch, developer of Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World at War.
If a film based on Call of Duty did release, it would already have a hefty built-in audience. Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare from 2007 has sold over 13 million units to date, according to Activision. As of June this year, the most recent franchise entry, Treyarch’s Call of Duty: World at War, sold over 11 million units.
Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is due out in November this year.
LOL, starting with 4,the Call of Duty series already borrows off of movies heavily...such as victor zakheav based off sasha from behing enemy lines...and WAW 's firstrussian mission basing a LOT off of enemy at the gates ,from the scene in the pit with the bodies, to the snipers raising their helmets on sticks..... and Modern warfare referencing Black hawk down, terminator 2, etc...
But, it’s already so movie like and epic, that...they might have to deviate...lol
I have some good info to add regrading the pro perks.
Apparently they do not all grant a further boost for what they currently enhance.
Some like redline will grant an enhancement starting at 1 less kill going to 2 less kills so of course you can gain a harmless UAV with 1 kill and call in a gunship with 5, still I see this as balanced because there are a few downsides, your killstreaks come faster and this could make you waste them and depending on them is not a secure way to get victory, once you pass your third, you have no more support. Plus these next pro perks will acutally make things bearable.
Stopping power pro:
Stopping power is the most useful and best offensive perk in COD4 and WaW and many have been wondering how well will it fit if just got an even heavier damage boost and how it would effect people not using juggernaunt or juggernaunt pro. Well there is good news, stopping power has its same power at normal and even at pro level, the pro level increases damage by 15% or so to choppers, so LMG guys like me can have an easier time taking those out of the sky. People on the ground will not need to worry about severly overpowered bullets ripping into them.
Sight of Hand- instand of an insanely fast reload, 50% is fine enough, the perk allows you to aim down you sights faster, so pistols and SMGs will be near instant, ARs and Shotguns can have a quicker time to counter attack, and Snipers and LMGs can find this very useful for close encounters which is normally a weakness for them.
There are many more but we will have to wait and see whatelse gets revealed.
Ugh, I prefer multiplayer games that promote competitive/pro gaming. Those “minorities” of nerds at least know how to balance a game. That’s why MW was modified on PC for the leagues, because it was broken and impossible to allow a clear-cut winner. Call of Duty overall has always been that way, since bullet deviation and low health creates erratic deaths that took no skill whatsoever.
Competitive games usually allow skill to be involved. I say competitive as in, that’s what it was built for, competition (tournaments, pro leagues, amateur leagues even). CoD used to look like it would replace CS as the top competitive/pro tactical game, but it’s sad how 1.6 is still going strong (probably stronger than Source). At least games like Gears are trying (but Epic has been in the competitive scene for a LOOONG time, so it’s expected).
But my cynicism aside, the multiplayer still sounds fun, but it’s nothing more than a pub game. And, I can’t really say there’s anything wrong with that. And I hope that those perk upgrades don’t rape too much face. Also, silenced snipers is jacked up. That’s going to make a sniper class impossible to find, which is going to make playing against them annoying to frustration.
