Master chief could pwn any thing that uses swords, punches, or uses some other melee. All he’d have to do is run backwards and keep shooting. He could also kill anything else that used regular guns, because those bullets suck at bringing down his shields. But any thing that had a powerful ranged attack and didn’t go down after several shots would probably kick MC’s ass.

Samus qualifies as super-soldier. Althuogh the only thing “super” about her is her cheap-o armor.
I give you that MC is one of the strongest video game characters ever, but he’s not match for Samus (which has been agreed with over, and over again). I own all three Halo games and I own all the Metroid games. I can pretty much say Samus is going to kick his ass.
I reckon Luffy could take MC. He’s pretty much bulletproof, and he’s capable of withstanding massive explosions. Not only that, but he’s strong enough to give a tiny shove with both hands and send massive buildings toppling over, and punch through almost 100 feet of bedrock, so I think he could smash up MC’s suit. And if you’ve seen him in second gear, you will know how fast he is. Combine this with his goatse flexibility and MC is fucked (pun NOT intended).

Sonic and Ryu can dodge bullets, while Gluttony can regenerate. Not to mention Sonic is pretty much bulletproof. Chief may be one of the stronger video game characters, but Nintendo and Sega has so many characters that could take him out.

The only way we would ever know, really know, would be to actually pit these two characters, in real life, in a fight to the death, and everyone keeps saying “don’t underestimate this character,or this one”. Well stop underestimating cheif, the spartans are able to lift twice their weight or almost a metric ton. The spartans sheilds dont actually give out after one rocket, they merely did that in game for balance, otherwise the sheilds would be able to take tooo much and the players would run out of ammo on normal weapons before the sheilds died, MC was able to take a point blank hit from a pelicans hellfire missle. also one of you said that samus had a better mind, she could think faster or something, well what about when cortana is in MC’s head, she could probably devote some of her thought threads to allow MC to process information faster.

This is just silly. Samus is just as realistic as Chief, and what happens in the game is canonical. If a rocket kills Chief, then isn’t it strange how in the books he survives a missile, yet nearly gets killed by a plasma pistol?
Master Chief doesn’t have the right abilities to take on many fictional characters. A lot of fantasy characters, for example, can only be killed by magical or divine weapons, something Master Chief lacks. I’d like to see him take on Alucard from Hellsing and live for more than 5 minutes. Or survive the first 3 seconds of a combat with Goku or Superman. Actually, I reckon Alucard could easily kill MC in a lot quicker than 5 minutes if he tried, but trying isn’t really his style... hahahaha.
