It’s like it’s staring into your soul. Ya know I thought these conferences were about having fun and enjoying them... not being scared shitless by a creepy A.I. with no facial emotion who’s there for people who don’t have friends. Ugh I just really hope they improve that or can the whole idea. I like the concept behind NATAL but hopefully it isn’t used for that. Scary as shit.
Nothing wrong with the idea behind it, I find it amazing at how far technology has come, and can go. However, I’m calling pure BS on the video. It’s just too linear and scripted and felt planned.
Alko, Zucas raised a good paint, while it is interesting, talking to an AI isn’t fun.
Now for my two cents, I’d like to see this technology added to video game characters in every day games. For instance, imagine Mass Effect 2 having this technology for the average NPC. You walk up to a random NPC and threaten him. He responds realistically, based on his personality.

I’d agree so but there was just no way of telling. I mean I like the idea behind NATAL, but I feel it almost detaches you more from the game rather than bringing you more into it. I mean I like the idea of WM+ (or Sony’s motion sensing setup which works differently but same result) because you still feel somewhat of an attachment to the game.
I think the motion sensing controller is the way of the future but in conjunction with something else in the future... virtual reality. That further brings you INTO the game. Cameras bring you further out of it. Sure you interact with it but you still have a detached feeling... because you recognize out of the game. By having a controller like the Wiimote as an extension of the item in the game you do have a sort of an attachming feeling (play any Wii FPS an you’ll see what I mean).
So I do hope NATAL furthers but in a route that is more in favor of Sony and Ninty’s. Although I think Ninty’s future with thise is something along the lines of Virtual Reality or something like that. Ever since Project Reality in the early 90s, it does seem something as their goals. Sony seems to be moving in a similar way. Although it is quite evident that the makers agree that motion sensing is the way of the future.
Truly amazing but if you were home alone in the dark playing that shit....um.... all of a sudden Milo takes out a knife and it all goes downhill from that point on.

I think NATAL is a great idea for motion control gameplay, but the whole Milo thing was just stupid. I’d like to see NATAL used in future games that do not revolve around telling some AI kid about your problems.
