My thoughts on Haze

Ok, just to let u all know this is all my opinion ok? So dont get all pissed.

Anyways i finished Haze (with dante) a few minutes ago. Overall the campign took me about 4 hours to complete. So the campaign isn’t too long. A couple good things though is there are no loading screens, and you can play up to four player co-op bia PSN or on one console.

Next on to the graphics. The graphics...were actually pretty sad. I actually thought RFoM looked much better. There were points where i could compare the game’s graphics to Halo 2 and when the game looked at it’s best in certain moments it looked about equal to COD2 on the 360. Honestly i think Free Radical could’ve done a much better job on Haze’s graphics. The game is also pretty jaggy. Another thing i noticed was when i was on the second to last level i could see the end of the level. There was a little line where they cut off the terrain and added “cut out” mountains in the background. They could’ve done a better job with enviroments in the distance. Also the AI kinda sucked. There was a major downgrade from what they showed us at E3 last year.

Now onto the gameplay. It was a pretty fun at moments, especially the last level. But one thing i didn’t like was that it had a very stereotypical FPS feel to it. There were a few small changes like how nectar played a small role in the gameplay, but it didn’t change it’s stereotypical feel too much. The vehicles weren’t too great either. The jeeps drove like they were stiff, instead of flexible like how they are. The driving just didn’t have the right feel to it either. Also there weren’t too many weapons. But overall the gameplay was prtty enjoyable.

Next up is the storyline. The story actually isn’t too bad. I mean it’s not the best but it’s definatly far from the worse. A few things were perdictable in the story but overall it had a good storyline. Btw there is most likely going to be a Haze 2. Now one thing that i didn’t like was some dialogue. At times it was great but at other times it just simply sucked. However, the dialogue did do it’s job in properly explaining the story as u progressed through the game.

So, overall the game definatly didn’t live up to my expectations. I remember how awesome it looked at E3 last year and now it turns out like this. Free Radical usually makes great games, but this just wasn’t a good game. It had it’s fun moments here and there but overall the game isn’t worth $60 imo. This game feels like it’s the next Killzone (no not Killzone 2, Killzone 1). So i’d have to say that in my own opinion this game deserves a 6.5 out of 10.


NOTE: I haven’t tried multiplayer but honestly i don’t care about it becuase it didn’t look too intresting from when i first saw it. If you’ve seen videos on it and like it then i suggest u try renting this game first before you buy it.

Merino, the rebel leader who u begin to work with, is constantly telling u how bad Mantel and nextar is in the begenning. Then later on he starts to act like Mantel and even calls Mantel “animals”, which is the thing that Mantel acalled the rebels originally.

Haze is a terrible game compared to any game on Halo series.

sigh hopefully r2 is good because haze was suppose to hold me till r2

well i wonder will free radical get the haze2(if it comes) right because they made golden eye etc
so this just change my whole perspective on free radical
