As I and the other games forum mods have mentioned, we will be implementing some new rules to help maintain the integrity of the games section. However, being a long time member myself, I feel we need imput from our veteran members before this goes into full affect. That is why I will present the rules now and you guys will have time to critique and comment on them. All suggestions will be taken into consideration when we present the finalized new rules at the end of the week.
These rules will only apply to the games forum and will not into affect until NEXT WEEK. However, other forums mods or admins should take notice of a few of these and implement them in their own sections. Also no rules will result in any bans whatsoever unless repetitive breaking of the rules which we will kindly deem spam. So here they are decided on by the games mods:
1. Trolling- in the game section trolling will no longer be accepted. Trolling is a vague word but it simply implies the constant bashing of a certain product, person, or company. Early offenses will result in warning but the persistence of trolling, especially in a thread that requires staying on topic, will result in deleting of the posts. Continued trolling is already determined as spam and you will be up for bans by the MVC mods.
2. Thread Titles- thread titles must be on topic and not misleading. If they are they will be edited to an appropriate name. This doesn’t mean you can’t have joke threads and if they are apparent they will stand but this is up to the discretion of the games section mods.
3. Flame-Baiting- flame-baiting is described as inciting another member to troll or attack other users or things. Any thread, post, etc that is in anyway insinuating flame-baiting will immediately be locked or deleted. Persistent flame baiting will be deemed spam and reported to the other MVC mods.
4. Links- make sure all of your links are what they say they are. No posting of false, misleading links. Also if you are quoting a source, the source must be accurate. Like the thread titles rule, this will be up for editing and sometimes locking. Like the joke threads, jokes that involve links being misleading will be up to the discretion of the games mods.
On subject, the biggest problem we have here is flame baiting and out of the new rules that will probably be enforced the most. Trolling is quite subjective and not as prevalent so we’ll not be as tough on that.
Note all these rules will imply differently to different topics. There will be more lenience in the Console Wars thread as it has built up a reputation for an example. However official threads will be kept very strict.

The only thing that worries me are the way the mods plan on deciding whether something is considered “trolling” or not. For example, some mods may be more lenient towards a joke about one console but not so much about a joke towards another console that they may happen to enjoy more than the others. In other words, I’m worried that a mod(s) might be a bit biased at times when it comes to trolling.

But other than that the rules sound fine to me.
Well we mods know we have to rule on an unbiased manner and we will do such.
I didn’t include this in this draft but in the final draft it includes on where to level your complaints. If you feel you were ruled injustly then you can petition your case to the other games mods. However, no complaints to the mod who did the editing/deleting will be accepted.

I’m supporting this, but only if it remains somewhat lenient. also, the hardcore 'Keep on topic' rules should only be applied to Launch Topics (ala' Resident Evil 5 and the Madwold Topic) and also topics where the topic creator specifically asks for on-topic discussion only.
Other then that, I say off-topic posts should be allowed as long as it’s not in great numbers.

Well those are already implemented but I made sure to state it in the second posts. Basically if a topic creator asks for something to stay strict we’ll keep it that way no questions asked. And official topics will not lose their integrity. But we all have threads that have somewhat lenience for going off topic and have heated discussions like the Console Wars threads and they will remain as such. But it will still be under these new rules to keep the integrity along with a little leniency to keep it flowing.
How am I supposed to make jokes with these new rules? Jesus this is going to suck balls Zucas. MvC was always good because you could do almost anything you wanted to and not really have to worry.
