Okay, I’m at Device Managers.
Control Panel >System > Hardware > Device Manager > Display Adaptors > double click the device and it will say something like PCI Slot 8 or AGP or something
So does Belarc, as well as tons of other helpful bits of info to understand his PC and what can be put in it, what can’t be, and what isn’t particularly useful.
that works too, you posted while I was typing

I got this.
so you have a PCI Express card
Here’s a List of cards sorted low price to high but if you aren’t very computer savvy I’m not sure if you’d want to switch your card

Damned BBCode.. copy and paste the url

well I’ve been running a 7300 gt for the last year and a half and I’m still getting by great. Doesn’t mean I’m not planning on upgrading though. But I use NTune to clock my GPU bus so it plays way better than it normally would

GeForce 7300 LE
Performance Specs:
* Graphics Bus: PCI Express
* Memory Interface: 64-bit
* Memory Bandwidth: 6.4 GB/s
* Fill Rate: 1.8 billion pixel/s
* Vertex/s: 338 million
* Memory Type: DDR-II
GeForce 7300 GT
Performance Specs:
* Graphics Bus: PCI Express
* Memory Interface: 128-bit
* Memory Bandwidth: 27.7 GB/s
* Fill Rate: 3.3 billion pixel/s
* Vertex/s: 550 million

I got this.
Had to do some research on this one.
Apparently you have what is known as the Xpress 200 chipset, which is a pretty old ATI chipset that supported multiple AMD and Intel processors, since this was before ATI was bought by AMD and now put integrated graphics solely with AMD chipsets. It’s pretty weak by today’s standards (it only supports v2.0 shaders, although DX9 and OpenGL 2.0 went up to v3.0 and we’re now at v4.0 with DX10 and OpenGL 2.0/3.0), but there isn’t enough information to determine the type of PCI Express slot you have. There’s probably an x8 or x16 (hopefully) somewhere on your motherboard. I’d still recommend using the Belarc Adviser program, so I can get a better overview of your PC.
To simplify what I just spewed outta my fingers, you have an older motherboard that really doesn’t optimally support the newest technologies. I would venture to say that you’d have a pretty big bottleneck if you went with many new video cards.

Bottleneck?
A bottleneck, and not just in computers, is something that hinders optimal performance. Generally, computer bottlenecks are caused because bandwidth is too low or memory is too low, so all the processed data can’t get where it needs to be fast enough.

It’s an html page that’s not put on the web. You’d have to screenshot it.

That sounds a tad low, but there are cards I think you could use. Do you know what processor you have, by the way? And is your card a PCIe x16 card or not?
