Alright US NPD numbers for September are in. For the first time since December 2007, 360 edged out Wii. First hardware:

Both Wii and 360 get over 500k but 360 is able to get the edge over them. Obviously Halo month is the leading factor. It also shows that Wii shipments rised in September. If we combined Canada sales then 360 sold 580k there abouts in NA in September and Wii sold 543k thereabouts in similar conditions. PS3 on the other hand got more than 4:1 by both 360 and Wii. The 360 and Wii combined for 90% of sales of the 7th generation last month in America leaving only a measly 10% for the PS3. PSPO saw a rise in sales yet still being 2:1 by DS. Expect DS sales to rise next month and throughout the holiday season. Anyways onto software. It seems that VGCharts was about dead on for software for H3:

If you combine Canada and US sales of H3 you get about 3.5 million which is what VGCharts said it sold. Amazing. Wii Play continues to be on high while Zelda opens strongly. Madden PS2 outsells the 360 version and Skate opens nicely on the 360. Wonder if that will affect Tony Hawk sales this month. Metroid and Bioshock continue to do well and Brain Age 2 stays constant. Heavenly Sword rounds up the top 10 being the only PS3 title to make it in the mix.
