Was an interesting month. We’ll get right into it:
Wii 425 k
Nintendo DS 405 k
PlayStation 2 222k
PlayStation Portable 214k
Xbox 360 170k
PlayStation 3 159k
Game Boy Advance 87k
For the first time since January of this year Wii manages to outsell the DS in America. Also PS2 is still the second best selling hardware while PSP is able to half DS sales for this month. Also even with a pricedrop PS3 is still unable to outsell the 360 but did get a 60k boost this month. Pricedrop was affective but not extroardinarily effective. Wii was so huge that it outsold the 360 and PS3 combined and by a lot.
1. 360 NCAA FOOTBALL 08 397k
2. PS2 GUITAR HERO ENCORE: ROCKS THE 80S 339k
3. WII PLAY W/ REMOTE 278k
4. PS2 NCAA FOOTBALL 08 236k
5. WII MARIO PARTY 8 177k
6. PS3 NCAA FOOTBALL 08 156k
7. NDS POKEMON DIAMOND VERSION 144k
8. PS2 TRANSFORMERS: THE GAME 143k
9. PS2 GUITAR HERO 2 W/GUITAR 138k
10. 360 GUITAR HERO 2 W/ GUITAR 108k
All the usual suspects but college football scores a touchdown in this month. While Activision scores with still 3 Guitar Hero games plus Transformers. Nintendo continues to be high on with its 3 everlasting games. The top 10 consisted of only 3 devs. 4 PS2 titles, 2 360 titles, 2 Wii Titles, 1 PS3 Title, 1 DS Title.
Pretty much. Wii rocked this month. Just wondering what caused DS to go down so much this month. I know there was a lack of any big titles releasing but still the thing is huge. Possibly low on shipments.

it went down, because everyone in the world (except silver) has one
Haha pretty much. Point of diminishing returns. But can’t be there yet. DS has only sold about 15 million in America. Still got a long way til it hits that.

How sad that PS2 is outselling PS3.
I do find that sad as well but not so sad. It’s hard to sell really well in a market where the predecessor is still selling well. I think the DS is an example of that in America as GBA hasn’t died yet there so DS is losing about 100k sales a month to it.
But for PS3 in Japan no excuse as PS2 is dead and it’s getting outsold there by the PS2 on a “usual” basis.
But PS3 should still be doing a little better than it’s doing even though the PS2. It should at least be tying it if it was going to be the “true” sucessor.
