So yea pretty much Nintendo ownage. Wii set a couple of records. First of all it is the most sales in March ever by a console. Secondly it is the most sales ever in a non holiday month(November and December) by any system ever in one month. DS would have set that same record if Wii hadn’t had been in front of it just to tell ya how much they did.
PSP increases from new releases and 360 barely edges out 360. Note this was a 5 week tracking month by NPD which shows some scary results. PS3 last month sold more units than it did this month. ONly thing was last month was a 4 week tracking month not a 5. PS3 dropped close to 25k a week in March. 360 also had similar drops. In wake of GTAIV month, 360 and PS3 showing some scary trends while Wii continues to pummel forward in the largest gaming market in the world.
Software was easy. Smash Bros. Brawl crushes everything else with 2.7 million in the month. RSV2 on 360 comes in second. Army of Two on 360 does well and 2 new PSP games enter in. Wii Play, COD4 360, and GHIII Wii continue to beast it out.
