Oblivion sucks!!!!!!!!

Niloc, i dont think anyone has issue with graphics when it comes to Oblivion. The game really does look great, and game mechanics are really an improvment. But why people bitch around how bad the game is, i can only tell you its because it really offered bad story, bad dialogs, lots of bugs, bad AI, and litteraly no real roleplaying options.

If you wonder what games have done it better, here are some real classics (note that the graphics are not the only measurment of greatness):
Morrowind had far better story, far better dialog options, better crafted world.
Baldur’s Gate is not made in first person, but it offered incredibly deep characters, one of the best stories ever, superb dialog options, great roleplaying...
Same goes for Icewind dale and Planescape Torment.
Deus Ex was science fiction shooter/RPG which had incredible story, great dialogs, many more voices, deep characters, even the graphics were not great considering the game was made 7-8 years ago.
Fallout gave incredible options how to affect the world, the world was a barren wasteland like in Mad Max movies, and it offered fantastic story with faboulus world interactivity.
Arx Fatalis, although made by old school gaming concept of dungeon crawling, offered great story, and so many possibilites when it comes to world interactivity that the game was actualy a half RPG and half adventure. It was unique and original.
Vampire the Masquarade: Bloodlines gave the best insight into world of vampires, with great story and incredible characters that go bizzare sometime. Original and very inspiring.
I could go on with games like KOTOR, Final Fantasy series,... but i ll stop.

Just so you see what you can do in the games i mentioned here are some examples.
When in Oblivion someone goes on your nerves you can’t insult him, or break his fingers... no such options. In games i mentioned you can litteraly do almost anything.
When you see in Oblivion a cake you cannot put poison into it and give it to one of the guards, or any stuff like that. In the games i mentioned you can do all sorts of crazy stuff like that.
In Oblivion you can just be a good guy, or a maniacal killer, but then you cant finish the game. In most games i mentioned you can be either a saint or a demon spawn and still finish the game.
In Oblivion you cant ask questions and threaten or do anything like that. So much for roleplaying. You cant have sex, or have a baby. Just face it, they dont make games like they used to. Today its everything about good graphic. Well i say... SCREW GRAPHIC! SCREW RETARDILION!! GIVE US BACK OLD SCHOOL GAMING!!

My only problem was with the glitches and the main quest line was too short.

oblivion is an okay game sure the quests are pointless but the upgrades are neasy too get so you must all have sand up your vagina

I love Oblivion, this is my favortie game that i have for both 360 and PC. Endless options, not one person says you must follow the main questline i have multiple characters that i use just so i can follow the main quest (tons of fame) or play on my theif or assassin class (tons of infamy).

I would love to play Oblivion, but it looks kind of boring at some stages and the dundgeons level are way too boring.

That’s laughably pathetic.

Good game so far. Mass Effect is better IMO, but a good game with tons of customization. The thing I was never really into, are the character designs, especially elf faces. The only thing I miss from Morrowind is sneaking into houses and stealing really high level stuff. They seemed to have scaled equipment so that a mansion has the same loot as a merchant’s apartment. I may be wrong later on though.

boring boring boring thats all I hear. please tell me why oblivion is boring be more specific, and give real reasons not “it sucks”... ok... why? Well I’ll tell you all something. Oblivion for the consoles is not great. Oblivion for the computer is one of the best games ever. Why Better on the computer? MODS. I have over 130 mods active in my oblivion and its a totally changed and absolutely stunning game. Just to be clear, I love Oblivion. Also Quit comparing it to morrowind. I have them both. they are both good. but they are 2 (TWO) different games! Oblivion shouldn’t be compared to its predecessors. Oblivion on the consoles can never come close to the PC version just because of the mods. Its always a new expirience. So quit dissing a good game for such trivial reasons, and actually back up your argument.

Oblivion sucks, the main quest is very boring, the graphics are good i atmit but it still has the unrealistic motions on some characters, especially when running or jumping, All daedric planes or so similar, the quest interface means you need to google every quest to know what you have to do and the BACKWARDS leveling syste

Oblivion does have some cool points, but it comes up with the same problem as The Sims; All the freedom is appealing for a week or two, then you realize, “If I wanted this much freedom, i’d put down the controller and deal with real-life” I know people will tend to disagree, but games should have some kind of linear plot, otherwise you’ll end up with a game like Oblivion, running around aimlessly, killing random shit because the developers only created a pretty environment, and, maybe, were considerate enough to throw in a few kill or retrieve missions.

Oblivion does have a linear plot, not to mention, you can’t fight demons in real life.
