Genesis is kind of like the prototype Sephiroth. He was a first class SOLDIER in Shinra military and generally considered to be a very strong warrior. But he disappeared and turned his back on Shinra during the Shinra-Wutai war. Sephiroth, Angeal, and a new 1st Class recruit were all sent to pursue and capture/kill him.
He’s also been shown to be similar to Sephiroth, in the fact that his cells were used in an attempt to create the perfect soldier. The members of the Tviets were probably all infused with G-Cells, which is what made them so unbelievably powerful.
Not TOO much is actually know about him at the time. His only appearance in a game thus far is at the end of Dirge of Cerberus when he grabbed Weiss' corpse and said “There is much work to be done Brother” He then sprouted a wing that makes Sephiroth’s look like a stub and flew off with the body.
There were G-Reports spread throughout the game, and they provided a lot of information as well. But most of it wasn’t really critical. We’ll learn a lot more about him come September 15th.

damn, hell ya that thing leaves sephs in the dust by a longshot, damn, how do you earn that video??? ive only seen it on youtube but ya do you think he would stand a chance at seph?? or even be a greater opponent then seph?
Genasis is far more than he seems, someone of great value to the series deffinatly the most intrigueing person to ever be in FF7 and yes id say he could possibly be a greater foe than old Sephy
Yes he is. And I presented Scorn with a theory concerning Sephiroth and Genesis some time ago. Although I don’t think Scorned thought it was plausible... I still bet it’s true. And that theory would basically say that Sephiroth is stronger but Genesis is craftier.
I mean, you can clearly see that Genesis is much weaker then Sephiroth was in that video. Seph is taking on both Genesis and Angeal at the same time.
