Lol, thats BS. Seriously, you think just 20% of the console is being used? It wouldn’t make sense. 60% I’d believe but 20%... I dont think so.
I would believe it, from what I understand... using the “cell” is a pain in the ass.

THey got to get used to the cell first its not like they can just jump in with it since the cell sony uses is somthing new
Exactly, look at the 360. For the longest time I saw next to no improvement over the original Xbox graphics, but it really just took them time to get used to the new hardware. The same will go for the PS3 as well.

The graphical leap is huge.
Exactly, but lets be fair here... Take a look at the old Xbox and gamecube games then take a look at the new ones. There is plenty more capacity in each system.

True, I was just using the PS2 as an example of how much graphics can improve on a system.
I understand what the Cell is capable of. Many game developers have already stated that they WILL NOT work with it because it is too dificult.
I understand, also, that the cell is powerfull, but not so that just 20% of it is in use. I know it is capable of more than what the 360 can handle, BUT it is not more than a Gaming PC is capable of. 20% as of now, 100% is unimaginable, more than a gaming PC and ofcoursely and obviously the reason I state that 20 is not the current use of the ps3.
I’ll believe it when another site, rather than PS3.net says so...You know what I mean.
If it’s from Sony regarding their own hardware and software it is reliable.
Also, the PS3 and the 360 are more powerful than a gaming computer at the moment. That of course will change very quickly since computers are always being upgraded and such while consoles are not.
Powerful and efficient. That’s why it could probably have outperformed the Xbox. But of course the GC cycle was a really short one. Just never really got the opportunity. I mean it kinda lost any games whatsoever half way through 2005.
Yeah, the good thing is the Wii looks like it’s going to do the opposite.
The Wii isn’t really getting the same games as the PS3 or 360 but it is getting its own games and a fair amount too so it should definitely get somewhere.
Hmm, can’t outperform the Xbox, but close to it. It can Outperfom the PS2 by far though. Who sold the most consoles? The least powerfull, whichi is why I have faith in Nintendo ATM.
As for SONY CEO stating the 20% thing, it only less-convinces me of what its stated in this thread.

I do think Wii could outperform the Xbox. Would you like to see a video that shows what the GC could do. Tech demo from 2000 Spaceworld. It has a few spots of pre rendering but it’s mostly the GC. Want to see?
And no if Sony says 20% has been used then it’s probably true. Can’t say for 3rd parties but for them it’s true. But you’ll usually never find 3rd parties that take the console further than the 1st party.
sony talks too much BS. Too, too much (their gaming part, the rest owns). Its just like Sony to be filled with Grown Up fanboys. Wy do you think in the quote, the CEO just BRIEFLY mentioned the capabilities of the PS3 (the 20% part) because he himself knows thats not true. Currently the best looking game is CRYSIS, and its a FACT that the PS3 can’t handle its graphics/sound (stated by the creator, btw). If atm it uses just 20% then CRYSIS would look like shit next to a game using just 50% of the PS3, and we all know that is not true.
