playstation 3 network issue

i have a probalem with my nat type. according to the ps3 its nat type 3, how ever that limits the communication feature of online so i cannot join a “chat” on the ps3. how can i change the nat settings to allow me to do this

Time to turn off you security (firewall) for your router, or you can manually open up some ports to allow PSN full freedom.

i’ll try the port forwarding thing, im hopless with opening up ports so i need a guide and wat ports do i open up?

You have to access it by getting into the modem you are using. To do this, go to this modem model list and find your modem model. Each model has a universal IP that you use to access it by typing it into a web browser. There, you get access to the modem and its settings. Firewall should be in there, but DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING UNLESS YOU DO A TAD BIT OF RESEARCH ON IT! I fucked up my connection by doing that.
