Prototype

Ok I may have gone a little overborad in my rant with GTA4 but I still am not interested in the game and do feel that it is not deserving of a 10 from IGN.

However over those sandbox style games the only one I really liked was Crackdown since you were superhuman and that made it fun, now with this game prototype, it looks fun and for the fact that you are deadly awesome. I just saw the trailer and it looks great plus it was said on X-play that the world may be bigger than the GTA4 world.

Maybe this will be a nice action adventure game for the fact that you can use both weapons and powers.

But Prototype looks interesting though.

They copped out? Why? I just read part of the review and was like, I have seen enough, not much to convince me otherwise on why it was so good to them.

Anyways, Prototype takes place in NYC if i am correct. It looks ok. I may or may not pick it up. GTA4 looks more fun imo.

They copped out by explaing in their conclusion what it takes to be perfect. Meaning they dropped their standards to fit it. Perfection in the human world should be understood. Meaning it needs no explanation. Zelda: OOT needed no explanation from IGN. Apparently GTA IV did.

Other than that it stated that in every area it got a 10, but within the review they said things weren’t perfect. Hypocrisy. A lot more things.

But the main thing was the reasons of perfection for why they gave it to GTA IV which would have meant games like SMG, Jade Empire, Metroid Prime, and RE4 could have all got perfects as well.

Instead this one reviewer of IGN got lost in the hype of the GTA IV game, most likely one aspect, and reviewed the entire game off of it. Then knowingly gave it a 10 and explained why in his conclusion to cover it up. That’s a cop out.

I guess that explains it, I mean for all the hype Halo 3 had, it fell a little short in its story with the MC/Cortana love theme and it received the same score as the not as hyped Metroid Prime 3 and Orange Box.

Well there’s a reason why I don’t trust reviewers anymore. I mean they find one feature in a game that is totally awesome and base their reviews on the entire game off of it. Reviewers of Halo 2 always kept saying how awesome the online was and would forgive other parts of the game because of it. Then give it a higher score than it deserved.

Same thing with GTA IV it seems. REviewers are loving the story aspect of it and some other areas and base it off of that while forgiving other aspects of the game. I’m tired of them praising GTA IV’s cover system. It’s not new and apparently it doesn’t work perfectly. So why give gameplay a perfect 10 out of 10. It’s not like Zelda: OOT were it almost created an entirely new gameplay setup, ie lock on targeting.

Well Zucas remeber reviews mean crap,

I mean No More Heros was fun and X-play gave it a 5/5 just like Assassin’s Creed yet IGN gave both average scores like 7.8 or somthing.

I just watched the video review and for such an anticipated title the video review was short, not to mention whoever made the video did not mention any bad parts. Even by just watching the mutliplayer it did not look interesting, just a bunch of people running up to each other and punching each other like it became a button masher.

However there is 1 thing I will thank GTA4 for, retards like Jacko will have new material to blame stuff on and look even stupdier for it. I expect to hear somthing like this: “GTA is only a murder simulator and now with 4 released to the public a child and 15 of his or her friends can go online over the internet and partake in gang life by shooting innocent people and police together. Rockstar has been able to cash in on this by making murdering a social experience."

A 10 is only reserved for one of those over the top amazing games.

Seeing everything GTA4 has, I’d say it could be one of those few games.

GTA4 got a 10 for fear of fan back-lash, it is not deserving of a 10... but, it is a great game. Prototype has the potential to be fantastic and I can’t wait to try it!

Button mashing is really only done by people who have no clue on how to play the game or it is done when people get frustrated with a long combo is hitting them. I tend to switch out attacks with the buttons and c-stick for quick smashes. saves a lot of pressure, many people I know use the C-stick.
